Why Do Religions Exist

2017-01-13 07:06:41 · answer #2 · answered by broughman 4 · 0 0

Because the clever people that time knows how to control the minds of assholes by fear of hell and greed of heaven and how to use them for their purpose to get power and wealth. Both fear and greed are evil in nature and both exist in most of the religions.Stupid peoples at this time still believe this whole BS senario. All religions are man made and this is the bottom line.

They exist because individuals need something to believe in. People need the ability to shirk responsibility and blame it on some "greater being". Religions exist in order to tithe those who seek only to believe in the creator myth.

The true purpose of a religion is to act as a vehicle to be used by a religious practioner to attain a way of liberation/enlightenment/redemption.

I think that religion is an excuse to come up with a way to say how everythiing was made. Since nothing can be proven they just a wrote a little book to say well god made this and this and this. People always for get that the bible was written by people and it was not just god's (if he exists) actual diary or wut have u.

1) Because life on this earth would not be worth it if the point was to suffer for about 65 years before rotting into worm food.

2)Because everything, this planet, the life on it, the stars, the heavens, are all too magnificent to have been caused by a cosmic accident.

3)Because sometimes a person needs a little something to get through the day. Some choose alcohol or drugs, some choose faith.

4)Because a person by him-/herself is not strong enough and could not withstand the hardships that are thrown upon the people of this world.

5)Because without the threat of a higher power, government leaders would consider themselves all powerful, and there would be many more attempts at global domination.

6)Because without the threat of a higher power, people would never be kind or considerate to one another. Everyone would be out only for him-/herself.

Because

(a) the Christian God exists,

(b) he created human beigns with a "God-shaped vacuum" in our heart/ mind/ soul -- and religions attempt to fill this vacuum,

(c) he placed "eternity in our hearts" -- i.e., a yearning for eternity and eternal life with God,

(d) he placed an interest in the supernatural in us,

(e) we are designed to be fulfilled when living in relationship with God.

Religions are the consequence of these items above...

Please be aware that there is scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm)

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

Cordially,
John

There is only one God and one way of life. Man has corrupted the true teachings of God thats why there are many religions. Use reason and intellect to discern the true way.

Religion is a man made thing to give our lives a higher purpose. Spirituality is what you have with God, when you are talking to Him, or thinking about Him.
