I am asking this because my the man I am going to marry has expressed interest in having a blood vow. I don't know if it would go with a hand-fasting.

My husband and I were handfasted but I am not familiar with a "blood vow". Which culture does it come from? Did your priest/ess give you this idea? Is it something that is traditionally done in your tradition? If BOTH of you want to do this at your rite, then I see nothing wrong with it. It's your rite and it needs to be special to you.

What's a blood vow? I know what a handfasting is (of course), but a blood vow? What's that? Anyway, if you are having doubt it probably isn't what you really want to do. If you are thinking about going with something that has to do with your handfasting, go with it 100% or don't do it. It's an important event. Blessed be!
