We should live today thinking He will come tomorrow. Then the things would be much possible for us to meet Him face to face. Even a one hour is quite enough for a person to repent and turn back to Jesus Christ.

Only problem is most of us live today without thinking that the Lord may come at any time.

I'm an atheist, but,
O K, just for fun, I'll play the game.

So, JC shows up, appearing as his 'ole self.

Don't you think he would be scorned, or perhaps arrested for looking like some psychedelic hippie relic?

Wouldn't he be marginalized and scorned for his philosophy.

Might not he take his flock to Guyana or some other out of the way place so that they "could be left alone" - and then we end up with another Jonestown, Waco or Ruby Ridge.

You believers think he's being attacked now. It's nothing compared to what would happen if he actually, physically showed up. And, he'd have no problems from the atheists, non-theists, or agnostics. His problems would more than likely come from the government and current followers - because he probably doesn't fit into the mold that he's been placed it.

Things were not "cleaned up" the first time if I'm not mistaken. Jesus would be up against a world that glamorizes war and rapes economically disadvantaged nations. It would be cool to see Jesus with a blog on my space trying to get out his message, but I'm afraid the financial climate of today's techno driven society would drown out the mightiest sage. The very religion founded on his teachings would be hard to clean up, let alone the world at large. But on second thought, time is not an issue in the eyes of the faithful, and all is cleaned in due time. If his message be eternal, then Jesus will return as many times as necessary.

I'm assuming the same amount of time it would take any of us - you, me, that dude in the red shirt, etc - from cleaning up, since JC was just a normal dude.

An infinite amount of time. If he even existed, Jesus was no more than an average man.

Do you really think things got cleaned up the first time he was here?

Sadly, in this world, not much has changed in 2006 years. He'd probably be met with the same fate.

Except it would be televised.

Seven years, the book of Revelation is all about that. Scary stuff if you're going to be here when it all goes down.

Given the assumption that he returned as he left... "How long" is a measure that would have no relevance in that situation... as long as he'd like or as short as he'd like...
