Dating is when two people go out together on a "date". It does not necessarily mean being exclusive but that connotation has been linked to the word. When I was "dating" I dated a lot of girls at the same time but I was sure to inform them that I was not being exclusive and was not bothered if they were not exclusive with me (just have to use protection)

Dating
Dating is part of courtship. It is the pre-scheduled, usually exclusive meetings of two people with mutual interest in one another, to communicate with and to understand each other better via joint participation in social activities during time away from work or school. In Western societies, a date is an occasion when one socializes with a potential lover or spouse. In this sense, the purpose of a date is for the people dating to become acquainted and decide whether they want to have a relationship.
During dating, people often explore the following traits in one another:
* Character and integrity
* Interests
* Habits
* Attitudes
* Priority
* Maturity
* Preferences
* Religious views
* Political views
* Expectations
* Family, cultural and social background
* Gaps between age and distance
* Direction and stages of personal growth
* Financial arrangement
* Ways of communication
* Views on sex, marriage and child-bearing
Usually, if the two parties discover that they have poor or low compatibility, it signals the end of the relationship.
Some recommend that couples continue to have one-to-one exclusive dating with each other after marriage and child-birth, so as to maintain feelings of intimacy.
Dating may be the term describing the relationship of two people attending a date, but other terms are often used. These terms can imply different degrees of commitment and monogamy, but with some ambiguity. In the mid-20th century, United States teenagers commonly dated or "went out" with multiple people before "going steady" with just one, but the term "going out" later came to imply an exclusive relationship. Other terms include "seeing" one another and "pseudo-dating" where the time is spent together, and the prospect of actual romantic relationship may be understood by one or both parties but is never explicitly discussed.

To me dating is a many things combined into one meeting. It is a time to learn, a time to listen, a time to share, and a time to enjoy one another's company in the attempts and hopes that there is more. There can always be the attraction of beauty to one's eyes, but to attract the mind and the heart in the same manner is truly an experiance worth repeating. Maybe for the rest of your life with that one person whom you found on a date.

Once I know enough about a girl to truly be interested in spending time with her, (not necessarily in private, but together), with the possibility of marriage off in the future down the road, then I can date her.
If I don't know enough, why date?
If I'm not interested, it's done.
If there's no possibility of marriage, then there's no point other than sex.

Someone you enjoy spending time with. But you also have a lable so there is an honesty and trust issue. dating is just a way to pass the time early on. Later it is a way to find the one you want to spend the rest of your life with.

Damn, here is another female that I am going to piss off or wouldn't trust me. Once she ask me if I think her a ss looks big. Or your going to say something that you should never tell on a first day, or offend her in a way. Like when they ask what I think about fur coats, And I say okay I will buy you one. And she say you dam sick f uck. Why is it like talking to a priest, They ask you questions that don't mean nothing to no one. Or my best worst date when she had dirt or sand on her dress and I tryied to brush it off and she thinks I am trying to get some.
