I know all about the whole concept of hating the sin and not the sinner... however that does not seem to be what goes on in here.

I happen to practice a pagan religion (Celtic) but i respect all others on their path to peace and enlightenment and I only want the same in return. Is that to much to ask?

Absolutely I agree with you on this concept. In my religion, God gave us free will. He does not force himself on you because he wants you to CHOOSE him.

I do respect you because you stand up for what you believe. I don't have to agree with your beliefs, but I appreciate that you are honest about it. And like you, I wish people would stop judging.

Thanks for sharing this question. If we could vote for best question, I'd give you an award!

The real Christians will not attack you for your beliefs and will respect you for the person you are. 90% of the attacking Christians are not Christians at all but are people who despise Christ and uses the christian label just to cause problems between Christians and those that are not.

I would give the respect even without your asking for it but you are right in pointing this out to everyone.

Though we are called upon to hate sin and love sinners as Christians, many forget this, or simply don't care. Many who claim Christianity are not Christians, the Bible says that we will be known by our fruit, things like peace, patience, mercy, love, etc., and those that don't show it are not Christian whether or not they claim to be.

Even those that do things apposed to my religion, I still treat with respect. That is the example I was given by Jesus.

As a Christian, I respect your God-given right to choose what to believe and would never want to take that away from you.
However, I also believe God holds you accountable for that decision. Jesus has taken our place and died for our sin on the cross, however if we don't accept that free gift, God in His righteousness cannot accept us. If I were not to tell you that, in what way would I be respecting you?
You know there is a God - keep asking questions, and He will answer them. :)

I wont put you down and I respect you. I don't call any culture or religion names.
Before I became a Christian I myself was a Pagan.

Dear Bigdadyp,

Excellent suggestion. I wish everyone on the internet would follow your suggestion.

I fully support you in attempting to maintain civil discourse on the internet (on topics of worldviews) without indulging in insults.

I have never insulted you or put you down, and I promise to do my best to never do so in the future either.

I respect your choice to reject the Christian God.

Having said that... just for your awareness...

I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).

And if you might be interested in looking into these topics...

For evidence for the historicity and truth of Jesus Christ, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/jesus.htm

And for scientific and intellectual evidence for the existence of God, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/godsci/evidence.htm

Cordially,
John

I'm not a Christian, but I respect anyone who tries to bring peace.

The name calling comes from atheists and muslims.

Descent people don't revert to that. When you put a person in a corner with facts, they have no other way to come out of the corner, other than name calling.

hahahhahaha woo hooooooooo

Have a good night.

We as Christians are called upon to hate sin, but to love the person.
