Before you rush into anything, go onto the Internet (or call a florist) to find out the meaning behind the different colors of roses--each one means something different and you don't want to give the wrong impression if you mean friendship rather than love. Then check out the stories behind violets and apple blossoms. Violets were given to women in Victorian times as "posies" and were considered quite romantic (and still are). I've never heard of a guy giving apple blossoms, but it's an intriguing idea. If you go this route, you might want to check out The Andrew Sisters (World War II era music) for the song "Apple Blossom Time" to see if the lyrics coincide with what you want to express. You could have it softly playing in the background for her when you give her the flowers. It may become "your song" if you don't already have one, or may take on new meaning.
