It doesn't impede hair growth. The constant rubbing from the hat rubs out your hair in the front eventually. So wearing a hat all the time will result in a receding hair line earlier than normal if you are predisposed to hair loss.

Not so as I have noticed my hair is near posterior level and I always wear a hat. Taking good care of your hair and good nutrition are the ways to get it to grow. I have watched my hair growth over the years and have seen that when I am eating healthy and drinking plenty of water it grows better that when I don't.

yes it does cause your hair not to grow properly. every cell in your body need sunlight to start a process called photosynthesis. this is the step towards cellular resperation which is need for your cells to produce energy and cell reproduction needed for your hair to grow. Have you ever noticed how men like baseball players are bald now? that's why. it also blocks out the much needed oxygen use for the same process. if you go along time without sunlight you would get sick or if you went long periods of time with out oxygen you would die.

I have always heard that, but thought it was an old wives' tale. I suppose if the hair is matted to the head, that can't promote growth, but other than that, no idea why it would be true.
