The Jews followed the Old Law (found in the Old Testament).

Jesus came along, preached, and "did away with" the Old Law (New Testament), saying it was outdated and no longer applied to society.

The Jews continued to follow the Old Law, disregarding the New Law.

The Christians did away with the Old Law, and embraced the New Law.

(By "Laws" I mean the laws mentioned in Deutoronomy, Numbers, Leviticus, etc. Laws pertaining to dietary restrictions, sexual taboos, dress code and self-adornment rules, religious practices and sacrifices...)

Jesus also did away with the Idea of Sacrifice, something that had been around since Abraham's times. Instead, he "sacrificed himself for everyone" so that no more animals would need to be sacrificed.

Jews don't believe in sacrificing animals; however, they follow the belief of "personal responsibility" - as in, make mistakes, pay for them.

Christians also don't believe in sacrificing animals; however, the follow the belief of "Jesus sacrifieced himself for me, I ask forgiveness" - as in make mistakes, as forgiveness and it will be granted.

Just the beginning of the differences, I'm sure. But these are the ones that stood out most significantly to me, in my own studies.

A greater logical question may be, how do we circulate to heaven while the scientific danger of God proves in any different case? do we actually circulate to a play that doesn't exist? with regards to the Jews, the choose not have the skill to get into heaven the two. For motives, see above. If we assume that God exists, very like we could assume that the international is flat, then the Jews might get into heaven on the inspiration of being the "chosen human beings." considering they are chosen, then they of course does not kill the son of God, hence Jesus isn't the son of God, hence you do not ought to have confidence in him to get into heaven. fairly, merely tell me the place i will get the keys... i might circulate. additionally for the guy who referenced the Holocaust and disparaged Christianity, I respond this way: The Bible does say that the meek/undesirable shall inherit the Earth. utilising this on your faith, being Jewish, i'm specific you have horded up all this money and are hence wealthy. so which you would be able to not circulate to heaven. Hypocritical and offensive? Now you recognize how others experience.

If you are a jew truthfully then you are still walking in the laws and commandments of the Lord
Christianity is a man made religion who do not follow the whole law of god. they feel they don't have to.They do not Believe in the water baptizing. That's why you have women preachers, alcoholic christians, smoking christians, gay christians, lesbian christains, priest who rape boy christians that are still allowed to teach, disobedient children christians, daughters dressing like whore christians etc. But yet christian means to be Christ-like, and Christ was nothing like these christians. It did not mean start a religion christianity.

St. Matthew 5:18
18) For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled

Do you understand that untill heaven or earth pass we are still to obey the laws and commandments of god.
The only law that god did away with was sacifice laws, and the beatitudes( eye for eye) read St. Matthew chapter 5 and 6.

Not just the messiah but the son of God. I don't remember which gate Jesus came thru but I understand it was part of the prophecy and that the muslims put a graveyard there. This would make it unclean and now no prophet could enter thru that gate. So either the prophecy was fulfilled or it never will be.

Christians believe that the old testament law brings on to sin and that Jesus fulfilled the law and it is no longer in effect. Jews believe that the law brings one closer to God and that it is in effect for all time.

Christians believe that the only path to salvation is thru Jesus.
Jews believe that the righteous of all nations have a share in the world to come.

These are two of the basic differences bsides the one you mentioned.

Jews don't believe in the Trinity, they don't believe that you need to confess your sins to a priest, they believe that the leader of the congregation should be married and have kids, the day of rest is on Friday at sundown until Saturday at sundown, Jews don't pass a collection plate around the room asking for money, plus many many more.

Because Jews don't accept Christ for whom He is, they are still bound under the laws that Moses brought down from the mountain. Christians are not, we are to uphold them, don't get me wrong, they are the basis of our morality. However, Christ came and fulfilled the laws, He is the law. He sacrificed his life for us, Jews do not accept this sacrifice, there fore they are still bound by their laws. Their sins demand a sacrifice. An atonment. It is really hard to explain if your not familiar with Jewish or Christian thinking. They inter weave and separate from each other. Sounds like double talk, but it really isn't if you know the history of both from the bible.

You are not in HUMN318 are you? I just assigned this to my class earlier this evening:-) The biggest differences is the devotion ot the laws of the Jewish covenant and whether Christians have to follow those laws. For example, the biggest single controversy in early Christianity was whether male gentile converts would have to be circumcised. Jewish law requires that but Christian law does not.

the Jews are still waiting for their Messiah so in Judaism they just have the old testament (or the Torah) and not the old and new testament.
