I want to use something on my hair (not a flat iron) that will keep it pin straight for a few months. I was looking into Easy Straight Hair Straighaning System, but I'm not sure how it works. Has anyone used it or something else? Please let me know.

I don't want to have to go to a salon and I already have 5 flat irons, I'm sick of taking the time to use them!

Permanent straight hair is the best way to keep your hair straight without wasting too much time and for your hair to stay healthy. If you look around, you might find it for only $100. Depending on the products that the salon is using, the price ranges because those products go from $40 and up. I do not know how you can do this yourself, because those flat irons damages your hair so much. If you do use flat irons, make sure you use serum to apply before to keep it healthy, but it's not as healthy as the professionals do it.

Use hair products that are specifically geared towards straightening hair. Salon brands tend to work a little better than the kinds you find at Target or similiar. I recommend Super Skinny by Paul Mitchell. Also, look for a ceramic straightening iron, but get one from a Beauty Supply Store. Regular store-brand irons don't work as well. Unfortunately, if you want results, you may have to spend a little more. Like an earlier reply to your question suggested, try CHI or Paul Mitchell ceramic irons. They leave your hair stick straight and SOFT and won't damage your hair like the storebrand (Conair or Vidal Sasson) straightening irons!

I tried easy straight and another home straightening system marketed toward Caucasian curly hair. I was not too impressed with the result, but it really dried it out, which forced me to have to cut off the processed parts after awhile.

I would advise you to go to a reputable salon and get a regular chemical straightening, which will do the job and not be as extreme as the Japanese method which is also very expensive and I understand it leaves the hair too limp & flat. I

a friend of mine used the Easy Straight Hair Straightening System. She did not love it. The two main complaints she had were
1) you cannot put the product too close to your roots or hair WILL fall out at the root. the instructions clearly state so. she stayed away from her roots and felt like she didnt get all of her curl out as a result.
2) she lost a lot of hair to it. more than she expected she would.
she ended up having to get quite a bit of hair chopped due to over-processing

i know it is not what you want to hear...but you may have to go to a salon to get the straightening done. good luck!

Ok, I know you don't want this but those CHI flat irons are the best..expensive though. I don't think there is a real system for keeping hair straight unless you get a hair weave or some extensions.

Buy a ceramic hair straightner from Sallys Beauty Supply if you have one there around $100 for a good one but it will do wounders so many people so not even know my hair is really curly unless I tell them it is great and a product called BioSilk makes the hair not dry out.

The best thing is probably a salon. I know you said you didn't want to do that, but it really really really works. And, even if you don't want to get it done there, I recommend just talking to a stylist and seeing what they can recommend for you.

ok my hair stylist... have this new japannese hair straighting system... and it's like a perm but it's straight.....and every month you have to get ur roots done again ... and it last forever at least a year i seen it and i think it's a good way to go... but if you want to go curly or wavy again i don't recommended so try it once and see if it works for you.

go to a salon or use a hot comb, but the salon maybe a better choice.
