I asked cuz my dad had to do cpr on a old lady ,it didn't work and she died.

Being a nurse and having worked ER, yes, I have done CPR. CPR does not always work. Sometimes, the person's heart has just sustained too much damage (if it was a heart attack). Sometimes, the person has just died instantly and is not meant to be revived.

Be proud of your dad...he did what many probably wouldn't even have attempted. So many people don't want to get involved that they won't even try to make a difference. Your dad cared and he got involved. Be proud of him!

'm an RN who used to work on a cancer floor. We'd have someone "code" like every night. You'd be surprised at the number of terminal cancer patients that actually DO want to be resuscitated. I've helped do CPR like 20 times until they wheel the crash cart in. I'd say our survival was like 50/50. And that's at a hospital. Your dad did a great thing. I'm sorry the lady died, but he should feel very good for doing the right thing and helping her. I wish there were more people in this world like him.

CPR is only effective about 25% of the time. It was proberly nothing he did wrong. i am sorry to hear about that

yea when i was in cancun some drunk idiot drown it was crazy you know how when you skin a fish there nerves still make you body move he was doing that
