I can answer with personal experience that you will never forget about that perfect time in your life. I myself still constantly think of my high school sweetheart. Its just something that comes naturally, unwillingly, and repetitively. That relationship ended over 3 years ago. For myself it took a year and a half before I was able to date again. What did it for me was that I Finlay got some closure.
You see, that's the trick. The moment that you decide that you can move on is the exact same moment that you realize that your previous life with that person is over and you can learn and grow from the experience. Never disrespect the memory and introduce any false idea's or memories about what happened. Be honest with yourself and admit to yourself that you do miss this person and that life immensely. And be true to your deepest feelings in knowing that there will be someone else out there that will again make you feel happy and content. I found that person, and I am certain that one day you will too.

Well I'm going through the same thing right now, it was the best time of my life. All I can say is take it one day at a time and occupy your time with other things. I don't really think you can just up and forget about that person and will always think of them from time to time but think too much into it, that makes it worse.

If you really think it could have been the best five months of you life, don't expect to get over it too quickly. I would say 30-40 years depending on your age now. If you get a couple dozen cats the time will fly by!

Depends on a few things how close you were to the person. How the break up went, and if you have any other interests. Sounds like he really ment something to you my suggestion is go out have some fun keep distracted and the next guy will make you happy.

There is no given time frame. It is a VERY personal thing. You may never totally get over it, but it will get easier. I know this sounds cliche, but time does heal all wounds. For the time being, have a good cry with the support of your friends and eat alot of chocolate. Good luck.

You can't put a time frame on it. It just depends, you cant just be like.. "okay, im going to forget about this person at 9:32 tuesday morning". Doesn't work like that...

it's just a matter of choice. if you choose not to think of the person and the best five months you've had now... then now could be the appropriate time. good luck!

You will probably remember them always, if it was the best time of your life. But the memories will fade at their own pace. You cannot put a time on loss.
