Is it because that now, God is demanding faith? If so, why do you think so?

Jack - You are basing that on human reasoning. My understanding is that God does not allow himself to be found or known that way. Whats wrong with faith, in good things?

There has been intelligent people on both sides of the debate, and it always comes down to having faith or rejecting faith.

AJ - Your wrong. Much of the religion you see in the world is because people are responding to Gods revelation of himself.

God still reveals Himself today through His Holy Spirit, the elements, and much deeper ways such as prophetic visions & dreams, the spiritual realm, etc. which are all strongly tied with faith and your relationship with Him. As your relationship grows, so will your level of spirituality, and therefore, your faith will become bolder and stronger, and you'll know that ALL things are made POSSIBLE through Him. A strong example of this is found in 1 Kings 18:20-39 and throughout the Holy Bible. Just remember that ..."without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him"(Hebrews 11:6).

In the Old Testament, He revealed himself through a burning bush, a pillar of fire, and a pillar of smoke.

In the New Testament, He revealed Himself in the person of Jesus the Messiah.

Now He reveals Himself through the Holy Spirit.

Most people do not recognize the presence of the Holy Spirit, or refuse to act on this inner spiritual voice. If more people did, everyone would see more of God.

Because God wants to see who really believes in him and who is really genuine about there faith.

From the Bible:
Ever since the world was created it has been possible to see the qualities of God that are not seen. I'm talking about his eternal power and about the fact that he is God. Those things can be seen in what he has made. So people have no excuse for what they do.

some poeple are so ingnorant of the truth that when something supernatural happens in their life that they refuse to beleive it was from God because supposedly. "He does not exist." God demanded faith now just as he did in the past. The Bible says, Seek and ye will find, knock and the door will be opened. If you dilligently search after christ he will do great things in your life and you can have great fellowship with Him. God is the same now as he was at the begining of time and will be the the same for eternity.

I think the method has changed. Israel in the Old Testament was not given the Holy Spirit, so God spoke through the prophets and appeared in much more obvious ways. The Holy Spirit allows God to be experienced by all believers, but in a different way than he was in the OT.

In Hebrews 11, where they talk about now we are children of Abraham because of faith, it seems like it to me. In the beginning, God was teaching and guiding His people by speaking to them, but after He came down and revealed Himself through Jesus, there was no need because our whole Christianity is based on faith. It says "for whosoever BELIEVETH" and it also says faith comes through believing what you cannot see.

He reveals Himself only to the pure in heart, the seekers.
"And the pure of heart shall see His face."
Unfortunately, that pretty much excludes everybody.
He has always demanded faith, it's His way or the highway, which is why everyone thinks He is dead.

He never revealed himself, but he did his son.

This is my reasoning. If some guy that you never met before came up to you today and said "I am God", would you believe him? That is why he sent Jesus and not himself in the past and why I believe he will not show himself now.
