First we need to determine which God we are talking about here. Are you referring to the real God, the unconditionally loving God who we are all a part of? This is the one Jesus was talking about when he said the kingdom of God is within you. The one who is our dearest friend and closest companion.

Or are we talking about the angry little judgmental God that lives on some far off cloud called heaven. The one who seems to be more concerned with our errors than he is with our successes? You know the egocentric needy little God that always wants people to worship him. The one who is always unavailable because he is only a fantasy? You need to specify if you want a real answer

Becuase it can be confusing, especially if you don't know where to look. If you have a specific question, it could take forever to find the perfect verse, and then even longer to realize the true meaning.
I don't think people are trying to replace the Bible, they are just looking for more opinions and a faster way of getting answers, or even help that doesn't answer the question.

to answer the question i think people just want to know what other people think.

But on another note I whole heartedly agree that people should just read the bible themselves instead of listening to people tell them what god is going to do and what he is. To many people think they understand and tell others of what god wants. Unless you are god, you shouldnt be telling others what he wants and who he is. Read the bible and learn for yourself.

That's nice, but some people have questions they can't find in the bible they have since it has been changed so much since the King James version was printed.

This is the spirituality and religion category. Besides if this wasn't here what would all those hateful little toads who bash Christians and blaspheme the one and only Creator do for "tough guy" entertainment? It's too dark to find flies and pull the wings off.

Why do you ask why people keep asking about God? Not everyone asks about Him. I certainly don't and you shouldn't be annoyed by something you do yourself... And don't worry, if I need to know about Him, I'll check the Bible, thank you very much!

If someone isn't ready to read the bible, don't keep trying to force them to. When they are ready they will want to on thier own, not before.

sorry, you are selfish. that's why Jesus brought teachers (Ephesians 4:11, 1 Cor 12:28) to the fold. To help others in the Word.

Because the Bible is just as accurate as anything any stranger says. Prayer doesn't work.

Because one invariably comes away from the bible with more questions than answers, frankly.
