I kind of get the feeling he held back because he did'nt want Ortiz to know what he was up to or what kind of training he was doing and his team suffered for it

I think his training reflects his own present day fighting, _shitty,
and he seemed selfish not giving those guys all the techniques and tricks he picked up when he WAS good. All in all, the only thing on his mind was the fight with Ortiz, and his fighters got screwed in the deal. Ken will forever remain nothing but a
Punk *****_! I wouldnt even watch his training vid if some one gave it to me for free and put it in my dvd player, for me.

Ken Shamrock didn't care about his fighters one bit. Even at the end of the show he would trash talk Tito more than he would pep talk his team. I used to absolutely hate Tito Ortiz, I couldn't stand his attitude or his actions, and Ken Shamrock was one of my favorite older fighters. However, after TUF 3 I have huge amounts of respect for Tito and barely any for Ken. Tito gave his heart, energy, and time and really helped those guys. Ken was nothing but a selfish and whinning punkass really, he had more excuses than drunk parked in the middle of an intersection at rush hour. He was one of the best fighters back in the day, but his mind has still to catch up with his body's age. I think Tito is going to help him realize this. Go Tito all the way.

This whole thing is absolutely ridiculous. Should Covenant have allowed the team to score just so that they would feel better? This was a HIGHSCHOOL basketball game. Not an elementary school YMCA soccer game with participation trophies for everyone! Covenant won because they were the best. Dallas Academy lost because they sucked. They shouldn't have signed up to COMPETE if they were gonna sulk when they lost. First of all, Covenant made a statement saying that their behavior in the basketball game was anything but "Christ-Like." To the best of my knowledge, Jesus never played basketball. The Covenant girls never spit on or cursed at the other team. THAT behavior would be un- christ-like. But winning is definitely NOT an un-Christ-like action. There is such a thing as un-sportsmanlike behavior in basketball. But not un- christ like. These girls played with respect for the other team and they ended up winning. How bad is that? Covenant did not force the other team to come play with them... The other team knew what they were up against and they lost in a fair competition. Secondly, many people are angry because it was announced on the news that Covenant routed a disabled team. Since when are Dyslexia, ADD, and learning differences disabilities?? If the team is going to cry and claim that they are disabled every time they lose, they shouldn't have a basketball team! And if they really have dyslexia, how can they tell what the score is anyway. With that said, they DEFINITELY should not have fired the Covenant coach. They hired him to win, and that is what he did. Maybe in the future, the person responsible for scheduling games should pick teams that offer more competition.

I think that's the kind of person Shamrock is. He might may have been a good fighter but I don't think that he thinks too much about other people. That's the major disagreement between him and Tito. Tito supposedly witnessed Ken dissing a kid asking for an autograph. That really pissed Tito off and it shows that Ken doesn't really care how he comes across to people.

Ken is old and washed up, as Tito says at least. I honestly thought season 3 of TUF was awful on Shamrocks side, and Tito dominated the whole show.

I think that Dana White nailed it on the head. Ken came to do the show just so he could fight Tito and thats it. On the other hand Tito came to the show to coach the young guys and teach them everything thing that he knows. He didn't hold back he just didn't care as much as Tito did.

Shamrock only did the show because Ortiz did it. I don't think that he really cared about them. Lion's Den training didn't help those guys with their cardio either.

i dont think he necessarily held back on purpose, he just was not as good a coach as was tito, he is still a ufc legend, but he just isnt a world class coach, maybe also the personalities of his team did not mesh well with his coaching style.
