Get married! My hubby gained at least 25 pounds after we got together. :)
Or you could eat a diet high in caloric content. And work out to build up muscle. The working out will burn calories (so will the muscle!) but I'm assuming you'd rather gain muscle than fat, right? So I'd suggest eating lots of carbs and other high calorie foods while working out, lifting weights, etc. That way you are still intaking more than you're burning.
Good luck!

Boot camp..... No I am serious.
8 week wake up at 5 am do 100 push ups, 100 sit ups 100 jumping jacks, and a 100 squat thrusts. Now run for 3 to 5 miles and have breakfast....
Run to work...
Before lunch 100...100..100... and then a 3-5 mile run
throughout the day, run dont walk
Stop and knock out 50 pushups when ever the mood hits you....
Sit ups and stomach crunches, a quick jog dinner then bed at 9:00
2 months you will be about 16-180 and ripped.

I beleive it all depends on your personal body make up. Check with your doctor first and foremost. It may be related to a gland issue. Also, you may want to consider weight lifting as it adds weight to your body but in muscle weight. You may also want to try going to a health food store and taking weight gain shakes etc.
Unfortunately for me, obesity is a in my gienes!
