does the pain come and go or stay constant? do you have sensitivity to light/sound or both? do you have any nausea or vomiting?
migraine headaches which are very common today will have all of the symptoms above-most common are the sensitivity to light/sound and nausea. these are commonly treated with medications such as imitrex or relpax. some medications are taken on a daily basis to prevent the headaches from occuring-usually given if the patient has them frequently. other medications are only taken on the onset of the headache.best treatment if you don't have medication on hand is to sit in a dark, quiet room until the pain subsides-if it has been several hours and you still have severe pain and sensitivity to light/sound-a trip to the emergency room to be given heavy duty pain meds will solve the problem.
a headache that is anywhere from a 7-10+ on the pain scale ( scale is from 1-10..1 being little or no pain and 10 being the worst pain you've ever felt in your life) needs to be tended to immediately. brain aneurysms ( bleeding inside the brain) have symptoms associated with a constant excruciating headache as well as dizziness and vomiting.
not trying to scare you into thinking you have a brain bleed but constant headaches need to be paid attention to. i would schedule an appointment with your doctor asap. If you have feelings of faintness or you do actually pass out-you need call 911

Do not...I repeat..do not take aspirin when you have a recurrent headache. Lets say you did have an intracranial bleed....since aspirin thins the blood the last thing you wanna do is thin the blood and make it bleed even more. Have you had a recent head injury? Either way, the only way to diagnose the problem is to have a MRI. Go to the doc asap...as in tommorrow. I have heard of people having a slow aneurysm. It could also be your blood pressure. Posterior headaches that seem to throb and that come and go point to BP increase. Other signs are facial flushing, hot flashes, and vision disturbances.

go to the doctor and tell him you were told about Topamax. I suffer from migrain headaches, but since I've been on topamax I have only had 1 or 2 and I've been on it for a year.

You'd better get checked. You could have a blood clot. Take aspirin - mild dose but get to a hospital quick.

You should seriously get that checked. It could be anything from a tumor to a blood cloth.
