Feel around on its legs and body. Work up and down a leg with it between thumb and pointing finger. Rolling fingers back and forth with some pressure. Do all legs then gently push on its sides and neck. IF, it yelp, concentrate on that area to verify. IF there no swelling then hopefully it just a sprained leg that will heal. It could be a small crack in the bone, but, it too will heal with care. Not as bad as if something broke. I hope it OK. IF, it still hurting tomorrow you may try calling a VET if they open, may have to wait until Tuesday, unless you feel it a real emergency. That be you decision.

You need to call your veterinarian, they can give you a better idea about whether you'll need to actually bring the puppy in. Sometimes the little animals are pretty resilient, but you should definitely call the vet, and supervise your daughter whenever she's with the puppies.

At seven years old, she should only hold them when she's sitting down, and then if they squirm (like puppies do), she won't accidentally drop them.

Please spay the mother if you have her, once the puppies are weaned and adopted out.

Nobody should be handling a 1 week old puppy, much less a child. If you can't tell if it has a broken leg, then it probably has internal injuries. Don't be surprised if it doesn't make it. All your vet will be able to do is offer to put it down rather than let it suffer. Don't let your daughter handle any more of the puppies, apparently she's not able to be trusted.

Yes, yes, take it to the vet - but make sure your daughter's okay too! SHe is probably feeling terrible about dropping the pup. If it was a small breed of pup then it may not survive - if it's something bigger, like a lab or shepherd, it may have a better chance. All depends on how it fell. But the crying should tip you off that the poor little guy/gal is in pain.

There isn't much you can do in the Vet area this late. If tthe pup is still crying by morning then get it to the vet.

Watch for swelling in the abdomen area (internal Bleeding), check legs for broken bones and just do a good looking over.

The mother should have been able to calm it by now.

The puppy might have sprained a leg or something. You might want to get the puppy checked out at the vet to be safe.

My kitten met with a small accident once, and he acted really hurt, he was in pain. I took him to the vet, and it was a small hairline fracture on his jaw. It healed itself, all they did was give him painkiller. My point is it's better safe than sorry. Unfortunate that you weren't present when it happened, it would be an easier judgement call. So better check, better nothing than something that could be fixed now or causes bigger problems later.

I'm sorry but the puppy is probably hurt.
I'd take it to the vet or just wait and see what's happens. I live in the country so when a animals is hurt we just.....
So if you can take it to get it checked out.
Hope the pup will be OK

i would take it to the vet, it sounds like the puppy is in pain they could probably give it pain meds just to be sure feel around the puppies legs and stuff, if cries in certain spots then yes, definately take it in.

this to happened to me with one of my puppies, if it starts making a really loud cry, definitely take it to the vet. I had to put mine to sleep, because when I took it to the vet, he told me she had broken her ribs from the fall, and would not make it since she was in so much pain. and that's because she was only 3 weeks old.
