Al-Quaida, the LTTE, the IRA, can I lump them all together? No wonder the Americans are on the rampage, and out of control.
What can I do to stop this senseless slaughter? Just to think of the great crusaders, such as mohatma Ghandi, could he, or Mohammed, or Jesus...........help ? Even now this question can not be catergorized.

Richard, you got the other way round this time.Any individual/group scarifies their lives mainly to defend their homeland,faith or people.

The question to you now, Why do you kill them???
America here is like rebellious without a cause.OK,a proper cause ( OIL ).
Take Al.Qaeda for example, they were the heroes in Afghanistan fighting the Russians for over 25 years when nobody in the west heard of only when the Russians became our friends and their enemies became our enemies, despite the Americans helped the Qaeda providing them with armouries and training. At the time,the Russian were our enemies.

ETA, the Spanish stole their homeland for centuries, they have every right to fight for the return of the land.

IRA, The Brits also stole their countries and starved them and changed their faith. They got the right to regain their land,and faith.

Muhammad and Jesus are incomparable, they are prophets as for Ghandi, passiveness was a good strategy at the time, the Hindu got no weapons,and the Brits were butchering them every hour of the day. The world has to do something about it and the Brits by then got what they wanted of the Indian wealth anyway, so they got out.

Mind you,if these Hindu were Muslims, they would have been called Terrorists .

Make religion a private thing. Take religion out of the equation and all the wars in the world would end. Never mind that it's mans interpretation and miss use of religion that causes fear, hatred, differences and violence, just imagine a world with no religion. I'm a deeply spiritual man, and I pray, but my God and my church are wherever i am. I'm a Christian a Buhdist a Muslim a Taoist and every other religion there is. But I don't support one team or want one team to win. Religion should not be a football match with one team left standing after some religious bigot has pressed the nuclear button. The USA and the UK may not get it right, but they are brave enough to try.

First, Americans are not "on the rampage and out of control." Al Quaida is a terrorist organization that slaughters innocent people. As far as whatyou can do...run for office...volunteer at a local senior center. Treat others as you want to be treated...start with your little corner of the world.

Because to many other cultures - including my own - America is a symbol for all that is wrong with the world. It stands for greed, corruption, over indulgence, stupidity, arrogance, and needless violence.

The only way to stop it is to prove to the world that, as a nation, America can rise above that, use its economic power to make the world a better place.

Oh - and it wouldn't hurt to educate it's citizens a little in the ways of other cultures. I'm a native English speaker, who lives in the UK atm. The last time I was in America, some awful woman told me I spoke "real good American for a foreigner." She was serious....

For the record - No one believes all Americans are bad. But as a nation, you leave a bad taste in many peoples' mouths.

America is not out of control, sadly.

Out of control they would probably cause less harm.

Surely they should be in the same list as Al-Quaida,LTTE(?), IRA, ETA, etc.

All governments want to ensure their countries people are well supplied with natural resources, and America is no different.

The only difference is the other organisations don't run countries,
but want to, and want to look after their people.

By what ever means possible.

you can put them all together and throw in the USA, England, Australia, new zeland, Italy and every other country that has solders in combat. at the end of it all they are all fighting what they believe or what they say to be a just war/fight the only difference is how the "rebels" and the government go about it.when in a fight u always fight to your strength be that dropping bombs from 2 miles up or walking into a building and blowing yourself up along with the poor unfortunates who happen to be near you. the only thing i will say is that all the fault lies with the invading country,because if another country invaded mine i would be the first to get a gun and start shooting, but i will never go to another country and try to tell them what to do with their lives.even if there was an near endles suply of oil!!!

Because we aren't like them.
I went to college with a group of radical Islamics and their hatred for me as an American woman was very real. I never figured out why and gave up trying to understand. This was approx 1996-1998.
I was uncomfortable with this and tried to reach out to them. Our campus was very diverse with students from all over the world and they were the only ones who stood apart from the student body. They had no time for us, they had judged us long before they arrived and that was that. I wish I had a better explanation for this question because it's a good one, but I can only say, it's because we are different from them,
