You should be elligible for the police academy if you have your G.E.D., the same as if you graduated high school.
G.E.D. stands for Graduation Equivalency Degree.
Once you pass the GED test, it is the same as if you graduated high school.
Good luck as a cop!

After reading other people's answers, I was shocked, because I've never heard of GED being anything other than what I said. So I looked it up. Apparently, the words used are different depending on where you are - on one New Jersey site, it said "Graduate Equivalency Degree" on a California site, it said "General Equivalency Degree" in Wisconsin, it said "Graduation Equivalency Diploma."
From what I've seen, though, most places do indeed call it a General Education Degree. I stand corrected. :)

GED means General Educational Development

The answer is yes - it states that you can become a police officer only if you have a high school diploma or possess a GED
Good luck :)

General Educational Development
I don't see why you could be disqualified from police work. Maybe Criminal Justice at Community College would help more.

I think it stands for Graduation Equivalency Diploma (?)
You probably have to go to jr. college to become a cop anyway, so as long as you qualify to enter jr. college, I don't see why not.

I would think so , they let you into college with one ... if they don't then persue higher education , they won't say no to a bachelor's degree
