You can do couple of things to BOOST your metabolism.
1) Resistance Exercise
2) Cardio Exercise
Not surprised?
Intent of the Resistance Exercise, or weight lifting, is to increase your muscle mass, and therefore increase the calories you burn. Your over all weight may gain while your body fat decrease and appearance changes to be fit.
Cardio Exercise burs calories while you are doing the exercise, but also the effect last after a while even you stop exercise.
Many female tends to do more cardio and less resistance training. I highly recommend add resistance training to your exercise. In fact, as hard as natural bodybuilders do, if you can. You will likely to see some change after 3-6 months. In 3 years or so, you may be able to look more like fitness model if you can maintain the intensity of the exercise. (In another word, it takes a lot of effort, and you won't need to worry about looking like pro-bodybuilders.)

To boost your metabolism you could do some aerobic exercise everyday and you could also join a gym as muscle burns a lot of calories which in turns makes you lose fat.

It's easier to boost your metabolism when you eat several small meals though out the day. Instead of eating three meals, eat around six small healthy meals. You also need to keep active.

The best way to do this is by eating a nutritious, good-sized breakfast and exercising in the morning. This will get your body running at the beginning of the day. Also, eat several small meals throughout the day (they should get smaller after breakfast), drink plenty of water, and try to stay active.

eight hours of sleep each night, a healthy breakfast such as oatmeal or cereal with a cup of milk and a serving of fruit, plenty of exercise and deep breathing. Substitute your coffee or pop with orange juice or a protien shake. lose the candy bars and sweets. instead try a powerbar or Harvest bar. Granula bars aren't relly much better than candy. This works and is so healthy and wonderful. It will benifit your mind and body in so many ways by producing natural, long lasting energy. I take Stacker2 XPLC though and it works fine for me but risks dependancy.

Besides the obvious (exercise), eat small meals often so your blood sugar does not drop, drink ICE cold drinks, chew gum, I also heard that there is something in red pepper seasoning (the dried red pepper seasoning) that helps give it a boost! Good luck and have fun!
