I asked Christians why are they happy" and most of them said
"It's becaused we're saved"

If you feel you need to be saved, you're afraid of something because if you weren't, you wouldn't feel the need to be saved.

You're really twisting things...and making them fit your logic. Yuck. Can't you do better than that, or do you like making a complete fool of yourself? No wonder you're drawing fire. Geeeesh. Being a christian is NOT fear based. When you enter through the door of salvation a lot changes in your being, a lot shifts, lights go on, things become clearer, it's a real paradigm shift. There is no fear involved anywhere. So do try to move on...you're being such a jerk.

My belief is not fear based. I don't go to church that much though, but I pray nightly. I believe in God because I always have; if my parents were Buddhists, I would be a Buddhist as well. I have no great search for truth. To me God is God is God is God. If you believe in a god, you believe in all the god that there is.

How many Christians did you ask? What, 10? Oh yes, 10 people out of 2 billion is SO representative.

I don't get all the fun with basing Christianity. People are not this rude to other religions. I respect all religions. I believe that if you are a good person, it doesn't matter what religion, or lack thereof, that you practice. I would NEVER disrespect anyone's religion. I think it is absolutely disgusting that you think you can disrespect mine.

I beg to differ, I'm happy in the knowledge that there is a GOD who loves us and has provided a plan in order for us to be able to return to his presence. My happiness also comes in my family and the purpose and focus that I have in life. I have learned to not take things for granted, to be kind and loving, and that service is something that brings great joy. The only thing that I may need to be saved from is myself. I don't understand how you get that hate is caused by fear. If people feared GOD or needed to be saved then I would think that they would love not hate since that is the greatest commandment of all. Your reasoning does not make sense as far as I'm concerned. The Atonement and Crucifixion are not just for those who are Christians. It was for EVERYONE. Whether you use it in your life is your choice, just the same as it is for the Christians.
Christians are not perfect. We are constantly trying to improve and to become more like Jesus Christ. It's a choice made out of a love for GOD. NOT out of FEAR.
Do we like things that are contrary to GOD's will or purpose no but that doesn't mean that we are fearful or hateful.
I am happy to have this life and to have the experiences that I have. To see the smiles on my kids faces and so much more.
I would really like to know your thinking on how fear causes hate. It just doesn't make sense.

Jeez...the second question tonight in the last 3 minutes that I've come across yet another ignorant atheist question where the asker ASSUMES once again WITHOUT proof how we Christians live our lives. Seems to me that all you atheists seem interested in doing is attacking anyone of the Christian faith. I feel sorry for you to know that all you live for is insulting someone else just because we don't have the same screwed up views as you. You claim to not want to live by any religious standards and yet you continuously attack the Christian faith by asking thousands of questions about it, wanting to know the "whys" and "how's" of our beliefs. Sounds to me like someone wants to be like us. Why don't you stop denying the gift God is trying to give you so you can live a happier, more peaceful life WITHOUT fear.

As a Christian, yes I guess there is some extent of fear, but its really hard to put in words. I am happy because of my relationship with Christ. Knowing that whatever happens, he is in control and has a grander plan than I can understand. I know that in the end, I will be with Christ in eternity. Earth is just a testing / make ready ground for eternity of happiness and love with God.

If others get mad because of the fact that you say it is fear based, maybe they are not certain in their relationship with Jesus. Although there is a sort of fear, I am not afraid, because I have faith and know that God loves me.

But we AREN'T afraid because we ARE saved. In a sense we were afraid of something, but fear is not out motivation for becoming Christians. Our motivation is thankfulness, humility, fear(meaning respect in this case - respect for God) and love. And fear does not cause hate all the time; it's only one possibility. Others are respect or action.

No.. you have it all wrong! Yes you we are afraid of something but not the way you think! Christians are supposed to fear God! We are NOT scared into believing in him though! The reason why we get saved and baptised is because we want to live in eternal life! up in heaven the the Lord Jesus himself! When i got saved and baptised my whole life did a 360! Life is never the same once you give your life over to God!

That would make Christianity reality based. And since we are assured that we can go to heaven, there is no fear. Have you ever stayed with someone who was dying? I have. Who is it that is frightened? Not the christian. It's the atheist. When uncertainty creeps in at the last moments.

I think your afraid of admitting that you are subject to God's authority. Yes that fear does have any ugly affect.

You sound like you fear that someone else could be right or you wouldn't bother to ask fear based questions. Of course, religion can be fear based. Lets not be in denial. But, not fearing and thinking your right and everyone else is wrong is like standing on a train track and saying to yourself, it's not real: dead wrong.

You know, when you die, and there is no God, no ones the wiser, but if when you die you find you were wrong...it could be too late for your soul. I'm betting God could even love You enough to forgive. But it's your choice, eh?

No one of the True Christian Faith Hates... that would be against the teaching of our Lord and Master Jesus The Christ. I will not go into all of the differing uses of the word fear. you are not going to accept any explination any way.
But your assumption in incorrect.

We of the Christian Faith need not fear because we are indeed saved from the eternal seperation from God that you and all who reject God will face for all of eternity... eternal seperation from God is the true death...Those of the Christian Faith do not fear death.. You should... and you will one day when the truth becomes real to you and it is too late to change your mind.

But The Good News for you is that it is not too late yet
