NO! Never shave or trim facial hair, it will make it look darker and thicker (it doesn't actually GET darker or thicker despite common myth). She should wax it, then it will grow back lighter and look thinner. It will also take longer to grow back than if she just shaved/trimmed it. Be careful how you mention it though, she might be used to it being there and not pay attention to it, but if you go and buy her facial wax she might get really offended and worry about how she looks.

umm whatever u do DO NOT get her a trimmer. its really insulting.
best option- laser hair removal... its even better than waxing. no pain what so ever and the hair takes forever to grow back. down side is it's really expensive
2nd best option- let her wax the hair off. many women do this even if the hair is just faint.
she can even use a hair removal cream/gel. any of these would be better than a trimmer. do not shave the hair off becuase it will only irritate her skin and make a grow back thicker

Please make sure this is something she wants. You might really hurt her feelings. There are a lot of methods for getting rid of facial hair. You could try going to a nail salon that offers waxing to get a manicure & hopefully you'll see someone getting her upper lip waxed, it can be a bit painfull, but a Jamba Juice will solve that.
Also there are products like Nair for the face.
Just be careful.

No, I don't think you should trim the hair, because the more you trim, the more the hair grows. Waxing is the best option. And there is electrolysis, but that's quite expensive. So I think you should opt for waxing. I hope this answers your question.

That would probably hurt her feelings. I'm sure she's aware of this little problem. After all, we are our own toughest critic. She's probably really insecure about it. So I wouldn't bring it up.
But if you really want to tell her, yes its perfectly fine. My sister waxes her upper lip. Its better than the trimmers because it doesnt leave stubble.

No. As a guy, I don't really like facial hair on women (go figure) but I understand if they don't bother with it. Ok, you have a mustache fine.....but I can't stand it if they bleach it! If your going to make it less noticable.....fu(king wax it!
You need to politely and decretely (when you two are alone, not in front of a bunch of people) ask her about it and let her know it's noticable. Advise to wax it.

I have a friend with upper lip hair and she waxes it off and bleaches it, trimming probably wouldn't be the best thing, becuase you can't get it very short, and it will still be obvious

Then she will get a 5 o'clock shadow and grow stuble...not cool.
Take her to get it waxed or bleached while you get pedicures or something then maybe she will take it from there and start going herself. But if she comes from a family of woman who don't find it a problem she may not be very happy if you take this too far.

Absolutely NOT!! If she wants to get rid of it she can get electrolysis or bleach or wax it. If she trims or shaves it she will end up with a mustache. Tell her to see a beautician and get thier advice on the best way to tackle her problem.

Wax, wax, wax. I cannot stress it enough. Any other method will cause the hair to grow back faster and thicker.
