Seriously...... If the ten commandments were called say the 10 Rules to Live Your Life By... would that be offensive? Or maybe 10 Laws to Follow for a Conciencious Life. Some other ideas maybe?.... you see in every kind of religioun that I have asked questions about there is some form of 10 commandments... Even in the Koran.... besides religion are these not some basic rules of conduct that if lived by you and your life becomes a whole lot simpler

Personally I never understood objecting to the 10 Commandments being displayed in public. There is nothing offensive about them. I honestly believe that some people just have too much free time on their hands.

I've been in many courtrooms and I don't recall seeing the Ten Commandments posted on any walls.

Why would a courtroom need any such display? The Ten Commandments have no relevance whatsoever to court procedures.

The primary objection is that courts are public property supported by all taxpayers. The walls are not to be used for advertising by any group, religious or otherwise.

The first one is "I am the Lord thy God--thou shall have no other Gods before me"

No-one can claim that this statement does not promote or endorse bias--something that has no place in a court of law.

You might as well put up a sign saying "Preferential treatment for Judeo-Christians practiced here--Screw the Constitution!"

I'd like to see these alleged ten commandment look-alikes in the Koran, please. And in these other religion's supposed ten-commandment-like things. Let's take them ALL then, Hammurabi's Code, that sort of thing, and post them ALL in courthouses...

No 10 commandments should be displayed in public property. They are religious in are inapropriate in nonreligious-bias places.

If you really want a list on a courthouse wall, post the damn Bill of Rights.

ABSOLUTELY NOT!!! None of them would be acceptable. We already have the laws of our country. Don't try to sneak your religion into the government.
