Here is the official website from AAFES (the Army and Air Force Exchange Service) website. It offers a breakdown of the rates for several differnet cards and settles the dispute between 'units' and 'minutes' on a card. Even if you don't know a service member, please consider sending an anonymous card because everyone loves to call home. We take it for granted that we can just pick up our cell phone and talk for hours on end. But when there are 30-60 of you trying to use 8 phones in a 2 hour period, you'd rather have a card to use than be left out. We appreciate all the contact from home that we can get, thanks for your support!!

my husband buys a calling card over there....i THINK it's AT&T...it's got good rates and he recharges it all the time so he doesn't have to keep changing pins. Also, at some FOBs, they have courtesy phones for the soldiers to use...but not all of them do. Good luck with the deployment, and i hope everything goes well!!!!

I think Maxim Magazine started something called the "Million Minute March". Something about people donating money to get phone minutes for servicemen and women there to call home. Oh, and tell your husband to get his butt back home alive.

make sure he uses a DSN line to call home so he can get the US rates as opposed to the international rates.
