I spent the week with my niece and enjoyed the time I spent with her more than anything I have before. Seeing her crawl and try to take her first few steps brought tears to my eyes. Seeing something so innocent, something so happy, how can anyone take it upon themselves to stop this? Or in cold reality "kill it?" I have stopped the struggle to understand why it is accepted, to me it is killing. So come on, tell me why it is accepted? Why is killing a child accepted. Do not pull the fetus card on me because we all know that is crap. Come tell me your deepest feelings, I am accustomed to lies.

Come now, make it so I can answer back. I get tired of trying to respond to people, but they just don't want to be answered back. I want to engage in an intellectual discussion. If not, that means you can't back your opinions, therefore making your argument weak and wrong.

Wow, some of you people stun me. You bring up such points that contradict where I stand , I want to know why. So come now, let me respond. Otherwise I will just decide you are full of something bad. So great is the quest for knowledge, but so meaningless when some people don't want to talk back and defend where they stand. I hope my English was clear enough.

Ah yes, to clarify. Accepted by who: accepted by our society, that has so many other avenues besides taking a baby's life? Such as adoption, or oh my goodness, abstinence! Dun, dun, DUN!!!

I go to bed now. Do not want you to think I am chickening out. Continue with your answers, I will surely answer back if you wish, or even if you don't. I still boil for intellectual discussion.

I do not agree with abortion, it's murder plain and simple. To take it from a spiritual standpoint, it says in the Bible that the second a child is conceived, it has a soul. Leave things in God's hands, and have faith. As for anyone that absolutely cannot take care of child that they created, there are millions of people that cry everyday because they don't have the ability to create a child. Adoption is the best option for these people, no doubt.

Abortion is wrong in many ways, but at times, it can be the best of the worst choices. If a child is going to be born into a dysfuctional family, the child's potentials are completely ruined and wasted. It all depends on the situation, but if a child is brought into the world, and then thrown into the hands of an inexperienced teen, prostitute, or perhaps rape victim, the child will lead a life that is a waste in itself. Abortion is not the answer to the pregnancy "problem". Abortion is murder, and should only be a last resort for people who are desperate.

well, it really depends. i mean, is the egg considered a baby? what about the sperm? then couldnt using traditional birth control be considered abortion? The morning after pill definately would then, but is that just as wrong? In the terry shivo (sp) case, the closest relative who could make the decision made the decision because the decision could not be made by the person personaly; and if the mother thinks it is better if the baby does not live (for any reason, even if it is false, or unsaid) has the decision for the baby, to live or to die, because the baby cannot speak for itself

Alot of people feel it is the easier way out. Alot of people the desicion is made for them and they do not have a choice esp in cultures where if you mess up and get pregnant before marriage you are a disgrace and are treated like garbbage so your feelings and opinions don't matter. it is easy to be against something in public but in secret when faced with a dilemma you feel there is no other way out. you are right no one has the right to decide who lives and who doesn't and no one should condone such acts but fact remains they are.so it is accepted because that particular person growing inside from conception does not have a voice just like the mother forced to remove her/him.

Dear so and so,

Abortion is accepted because it cost money and this world is full of greed for money. It's like smoking, you can die from smoking, but the tobacco company just don't care about the people that they are killing a year. It's bad but it's still accepted because some don't think it's murder that maybe they are too young and aren't fit to raise a child and they don't see it as murder.

My deepest feelings are that when the fetus is aborted, it's a peace of meat. No thoughts, nothing. Just a growth that is removed. The mother honestly does not wan't to go through pregnancy and raising a child, so she removes the little peice of flesh. No more life-ruining hardships to deal with.

why is it acceptable to kill animals? we kill many animals for purposes other than 'food'.. why is it acceptable to put baby's up for adoption when there are already millions that have yet to be adopted and will live their lives in adoption agencies or in and out of foster care?
i think it is just as bad to bring a child into this world knowing you can't take care of it, or knowing that you will put it up for adoption and it may never get quality care. preventing these problems is a moral obligation in my mind. People who can't care for their baby should not be pregnant in the first place, I agree, BUT thats not going to stop it from happening.. so there is an obligation there to do something about it because it could end up in a worse place..

Abortion is not accepted in my book. Under no circumstance should it be accepted. IN this whacked out liberal world we live in it probably is accepted because the average liberal does not realize that abortion is murder, no matter the cicumstance. Oh, and if I remember correctly, murder is against the law. Your niece is probably a beautiful baby. Aren't children wonderful?

It's more to do with the mother not being able to provide emotionally or monetarily for the child. I don't think there are many people who go to have abortions who don't think long and hard about what they're doing.

Posts like this make me so angry. It's not up to you to pass judgement on other people's choices.

To each their own. Don't condem people for making decisions for themselves. It may not be the decision you would make but you can't tell another human being what to do with her body. You can call it what you want but it is legal (and should always be) and women have been doing it for centuries.
