They are happier and they live longer.
"A Duke University study of 2391 people who were at least 65 years old found that regular churchgoers who also prayed daily or studied the Bible daily were 40 per cent less likely to have high blood pressure than those who did not. Elderly churchgoers had better mental health and were less likely to have high degrees of a protein associated with age-related illness.."

I work in a therapy practice and listen to clients daily. I listen to their life story just about each session. The ones that are Christians make in known to me within a short time. I've found Christians have just as many life problems as non-Christians, however, I notice their problems seem to turn into a personal crisis more often, sometimes to the point of dysfunction. I also have access to all of my clients medical records and know what medications each one is taking. More than half of my Christian clients are taking prescription anti-depressants, probably less then a quarter of my non-Christian clients are on prescription anti-depressants. That could mean a number of things (disability usually results in depression), so I won't attempt to commit at "correlation equates to causation" fallacy I 've seen used so much here on Yahoo answers. I'm just trying to give facts I have observed. Such limited information is of little statistical information anyways. You draw your own conclusions.
I do find it interesting that you've identified Christians as not being "normal" people, though. If I had that perception (that there is a difference) in my own therapy practice I'd be out-of-business in a heartbeat and probably have been disciplined against my license.

Before I became christian I was miserable. I never been this happy before. Living a christian life is awesome. Yes I still have problems and trials of everyday life but now I can get through those happy and not feeling let down. It is an awesome life.

We (Christians) are about as happy as the average person. Even though we know we are saved and are going to Heaven eventually, we all have are ups and downs. Being a Christian isn't a worry free life. But one thing I can say that we have that non-christians don't is joy. The JOY taht resides in our hearts, and minds that makes us want to shout praise to the greatest of the great!!!!

i can't speak for any one else. i can only speak for myself.
i believe that there is no god, and that life is meaningless and has no point. i personally love life. i wish i could live forever and i would love it if there were a god and a heaven, but i'm not depressed just because there's no god.
i have an amazing love life, am an accoplished artist, and am able to think and express my thoughts with ease. i am very healthy and have people who love me. i seriously don't think i come across people who are much happier than i am.
ok,, now go ask the other 6 billion people on the planet how they feel, and get back to me with the results. i'm curious.

If you talking about real devoted christians, YES they are more happy than any other people on earth. This because their walk with the Lord and their intimate relationship with him is more sweeter than anything they can ever imagine. They totally depend their lives, food, money, family and decisions unto God which in turn God will provide their basic needs and take away all their worries.

i don't think so because the way they shout on top of their voices that they r the chosen ones.& only their religion is great. choosen ones for what ? they claim that their religion is great . that shows that they don't know about other religions.u don't have to advertise for your religion. once u start ad vertising & bragging about something then we must think that there is something wrong there. no, i am not against chritianity or christians .i have read bible & it is just like any other holy books where everything good is there. i am against certain christians who think that their religion needs advertising .hope that jesus christ gives them some sense. otherwise they will be ruining their own religion.

are christians happier than "normal" people ? whats normal to you that christians do not fall under that term? they are happy with who they are what they beleive in and what awaits them at the end of it all. so if you are not happy in the same way then i would say yes christians are happier than "normal" people.

"Stating that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one. The happiness of credulity is a cheap and dangerous quality."

I argee with the post that says that the holy spirit will give us joy... but as for being happier... no. As it is written in the Bible, we will be persecuted, mocked and disrespected. That's not anything to be happy about... unless of course it's happening b/c of your association with Christ....
In John 16:33, Jesus says:
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."
Hope that help. God Bless you,
Chase
