Yes. Here is the reason why. In the Old Testament it says that anyone that hangs on a tree is cursed. Tree is another word for the cross. So in this way yes Jesus was made a curse. And by Him becoming a curse by hanging and taking on every persons sins, He was able to save those that would come to Him and believe what he had done.

Galatians 3:13 and 14.............Christ redeemed us from that self defeating , cursed life by absorbing it completely into himself. Do you remember the Scripture that says, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree" ? That is what happened when Jesus was nailed to the cross: He became a curse, and at the same time dissolved the curse. And now, because of that, the air is cleared and we can see that Abraham's blessing is present and available for non-Jews, too. We are all able to receive God's life, his Spirit, in and with us by believeing - just the way Abraham received it." ( from .... The Message)
It's the same thing we have been saying all along, He took our place, He was cursed so we wouldn't be, He died so we wouldn't. Don't know how to make it any clearer.

A very bad translations or worded out of context. Gal 3:13 states

"13 Christ by purchase released us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse instead of us, because it is written: “Accursed is every man hanged upon a stake.”

What this verse it saying is that by Jesus Christs sacrifice he released the Jews from the Mosaic Law. and by his ransom of being "hanged upon a stake" released mankind from the Ada-mic sin and allows for mankind's redemption.

The translation that I have doesn't say He has been made a curse, but that He became a "curse" for us ... and the curse is defined as "anyone who is hanged on a tree." In other words ... it is the act of being crucified that is a "curse." In another definition, sited in Galatians 3:10, says "All who depend on observance of the law, on the other hand, are under a curse. It is written, 'Cursed is he who does not abide by everything written in the book of the law and carry it out.'" This basically is a statement which thwarts obedience to laws as a sign of superiority, because it is not. It is in submission and humility that Laws should be followed and obeyed, and they should be followed and obeyed in a way that promotes what God has instructed us to do.

Furthermore, when I continue to read verse 14, it explains why the "curse" was accepted by Jesus: "This has happened so that through Christ Jesus the blessing bestowed on Abraham might descend on the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, thereby making it possible for us to receive the promised Spirit through faith." This reinforces that the act (of accepting a "curse" under both definitions) was part of what He had to do in order to save us, so that we would have the opportunity to enter into Heaven.

A very interesting verse and chapter. But to say that Jesus "Has been made a curse" could be taken out of context, to mean that He IS a curse, which is not correct. He accepted the cross, which was the curse referred to in that verse, in order to save us.

Thank you for answering "my" question regarding the Mandap.

The curse may very well be that there have been many "Lost Gospels" which are Ancient Writings that the Church refuses to incorporate into the Bible, because the Vatican says these writings are more Gnostic or of an Artisan nature, than "christian." (Leaving writings out, only leads to confusion and hence, a curse.)

Personally, I try to review ALL truths, which is in part why I asked about the Beautiful Spiritual meanings inherent of the Mandap.

The other reason for this "curse" most likely relates to the fact that Christ was a very peaceful man (healing the sick and raising the dead) but His followers have gone on Crusades that conquered, hurt and killed entire groups of others, such as my ancestors, the Native American people for example ... as Christian Expansionism spread around the world.

Instead of seeking balance and harmony, Christians to this day are very forceful ... and that FORCE is against the true teachings of Christ. - It would be like someone killing another in the name of Gandhi. (Come to think of it, the same example is true of Terrorists killing in the name of Allah.)

I believe all of the Spiritual Entities are of a peaceful nature, but it is Humanity who Forces individual ideology because Humanity just cannot accept spiritual, God Given diversity.

My very best to you and again, thank you for answering my question.

Jesus took all of the sins of mankind into himself. All, past, present, and future sins. This made him cursed as is said in Gal 3:13.
While he was on the cross and alive he was indeed cursed by all that sin he caried. When it was at the end for him He said "it is finished".. That means all that He came to do for mankind. He paid the sin debt of all men for all time. When he rose from the tomb he told the woman who first met him not to touch him as he had not yet returned to The Father. He went to Heaven and recieved a New Emmortal Body. Free of all the sin he had taken in. NO Sin is allowed to enter Heaven. That is why it is stated as it is in Galatians. Not that he was a curse but that he was cursed by the sin he carried to dispose of it for us on The Cross.

It's not a matter to agree or disagree with. It's a matter understand.

Sin is a curse on the whole world. Jesus came to bear the sin of the world. By bearing the sin of the whole world, Jesus became the accursed.

The reason Jesus did that is so those who chose to, can escape the effects of sin. ("The wages of sin is death").

I believe the wording was "Jesus has been made a curse FOR you"
not "a curse against you". meaning a mystical promise working toward your good...odd choice of words, but read the entire passage. Taking 5 words out of context is a bit unreliable if you're searching for meaning.

13Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree."[a] 14He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.

By this, I think the bible means Jesus was made sin(a curse) for us, so we no longer have the curse of death and separation which we deserve.
