More medically based ways to avoid/recover from hangovers...
Have vitamin B (like Berocca) before you drink. It will help your body to recover and the vitamin C will help your immune system.
Drink water as much as you can while you're drinking. A good measure is one drink, one glass of water.
Don't have sugary drinks with your booze. The sugar reacts with the alcohol and will create toxic chemicals that make it even harder on your body.
Have food before you eat, preferably something with carbs and oil (like pizza or pasta)
Avoid cheap booze. As a rule the cheaper the alcohol, the more random toxins will be floating around in it, which is half the cause of hangovers.
Drink water before you go to sleep. If you think you're going to be ill, drink LOTS of water until you are sick. The water will stop your throat from burning from the stomach acid coming back up and if you've drunk enough to feel sick, you really should get the left over alcohol out of your system. Drink more water after, and if possible have some oily food to coat your stomach.
When you wake up, have oily food. Bacon and eggs and whatever you can stomach.
Drink lots of water with sugars and/or salts. (a little lemon juice or something acid can help too) This will help you absorb the water back in to your system. Eat as much as you feel you can.
If you have a headache... try a really hot shower, and while your head is under the shower, quickly turn the cold water on full. (as cold as you can stand) This temperature change helps open the blood vessels in the surrounding area and should help with the headache.
And of couse the best tip is to not drink in the firstplace. lol

Water before bed, then bloody mary, bananas, potato chips, or gatorade in the morning.
The first step is to drink a fair amount of water as you finish drinking and before going to bed. One trick is to get a glass of water with your last drink or two (last call at a bar) and then again when you get home.
In the morning, you will still need hydration, but you will also be lacking electrolytes (such as salt, potassium) that your body has lost with the water, so foods or drink with these help too. (Also helps you retain the water instead of urinating it out right away.) Gatorade combined with a banana, or orange juice/water and salty potato chips are very good. (Potatoes, bananas, have potassium & Gatorade is full of electrolytes).
Pain relievers can help too, but your liver has already suffered enough damage.
My personal favorite is a multivitamin and a good Bloody Mary made with some tobasco or cayenne pepper. Why? It hydrates you, it's salty, the tomato has antioxidants & other electrolytes, tobasco or hot sauce triggers the body's natural pain relievers & dialate the blood vessels that are giving you the headache. Also, hangovers often include symptoms of withdrawal (alcohol is a drug) and the shot in the Bloody Mary reduces this. If you are naseous, rather light headed, or still kind of drunk make it a Virgin Mary (no alcohol) or else you might make yourself puke more.
Also, and I have no proof of this, but I suspect that the vitamins & antioxidants in the tomato juice or the orange juice probably help your liver, which has had a tough night.

To avoid hangovers all together it is best to drink water at night before you go to bed because a hangover is the bodys response to being dehydrated therefore drinking water will help to avoid the hangover all together

just don't drink. just kidding, try Chase it's an OTC Over the Counter medicine. But please seriously, try not to drink anymore, hangovers are not fun so why don't get rid of drinking in first place. Excessive drnking has been proved to cause major damages to the brain functions, in other words long term use of alcohol may cause symptoms such as memory loss and stupidity. So join the smart and sober club.

A hangover is primarly because of dehydration. Best thing you can do is to drink water throughout the night you are drinking, and before you go to sleep.
In the morning, drink more water and eat something. But being hungover is not good for you so don't drink enough to be hungover next time.
A buddy of mine has a brother and sister in medical school. He was told that when your hungover the plasma in your veins separates from your blood. Your veins then expand to allow for it all to still move freely. The 'woosh' or pulsating feeling in your head when your hungover is your blood/plasma running through your veins in your brain. Because of the amount of veins in your brain, and because they are expanding ever so slightly, your brain is actually being compressed..........not healthy.

How about you quit drinking before you have had enough that you know your going to have a hangover? Everyone has a limit, know what yours is. Failing that, only time cures a hangover, no food or drink is going to hurry it along.

Eat bread and drink water right before you go to sleep, then when you wake up drink some more water and take an over the counter pain reliver. Or the other method it to have another drink as soon as you wake up, however this will only make you drunk again.

Few tried & true tips: (try one or all )
1) 1 aspirin & at LEAST 2-3 glasses water before bed
2) OJ & BIG BREAKFAST NEXT MORNING
3)Chase each drink with a glass of water
4)I always drink tequila (without the worm) always worry free

ready?....
Don't drink!! Alchoal is a toxin, stick o marijuana, alchohal you can overdose on, you can't overdose on marijuana, you'll pass out before you do :P you will overdose one Oxygen, or water before you overdose on marijuana, treat your body with respect.
You get a hangover because you killed billions of brains cells, and your body is trying to compensate for all the damage you did to it.
(I wasn't serious about the weed, it's bad for you too...... when your about ready to die though... frikken thirty or forty years from now)
