its called faith. its the believing in the things not seen,
a knowing that you know (by feeling) in your heart, not just something you know in your head.
a personal experience with God.
not some scientific proof.
God is not about science, its much deeper than that.
read your bible, keep searching your heart, you'll find him there, then you'll have your answer. ;)

Honey, do you really think there are that many coincidences? You just happened to be born on a planet that just happens to be capable of supporting human life, which just happened to evolve after some proteins got hit by a coincidental bolt of lightening?
Coincidences happen, but not to that great extent.
There is a God, and if you ever doubt it, just look around you. As a human, you're likely to see the negative things instead of the positive, but look at the diversity of life. Plants, animals, people... The Earth keeps spinning! Science has explained how everything came about, but not WHY. God is the why behind everything! I hope you find the answers you're looking for, and that I've helped...

Weak analogy Rock Squirrel. I won't bother refuting it because Dawkins already devoted a whole book to the popular "watchmaker" analogy.
Please do yourself a favor and learn a little on evolution. I'll just correct a few misconceptions: It has nothing to do with the origin of life, it isn't random, it doesn't state that humans evolved from apes, it has nothing to do with political theories and has nothing to do with morality, it doesn't violate thermodynamics, etc. Perhaps this test will be a favor to you: http://www.holysmoke.org/sdhok/cre-test.htm
On the actual question, ultimately, the answer is unknowable. It cannot be shown either way. Philosophers and theologians have devoted LIVES to this sole topic and ultimately, it comes down to that we simply are in no position to know. THAT is where faith comes in.
By the way, I suggest you don't even THINK about invoking Pascal's wager. Read a little on the principle of indifference and the webs of absurdity it has led mathematicians and philosophers.

Heh, that basically narrow downs to. . . do you have blind faith in god? or a greater being?
or do you believe in facts of science?
Many scientists belive in either 2 things. But, most of them will agree on the fact that Humans were not created as they were, but we evolved from something else. Rather it be divine intervention that led us to our current stage of evolution or just simply freak accident. . . we may never know.
But, hardest thing to answer is. . . the beginning. When earth it self was created all those billions of years ago. God may have created earth, but he probably never had intention of creating homo sapien sapien. Just for the fact that it is us homo sapien sapien that is quickly and rapidly destroying earth. Other homo sapien, the pre humans coexisted with animals instead of destroying EVERYTHING like we are doing right now.
Then again, maybe god did direct us in this evolution even if we are destroying everything. . . dinosaurs did become extinct after all. . . maybe god likes creating new things and destroying it, and creat more new things. Why else would species keep becoming extint and new species keeps being found?

Suppose I give you a fine, jeweled movement watch, and then I ask you, "Do you think someone manufactured this watch?, Or, do you think it came from ocean slime, and evolved over time?" I bet you would say I was a nut case. Obviously, a fine watch has a maker. Now, a human being is far more intricate than any wrist watch. Consider that carefully. If you think that the human being just accidentally washed up from ocean slime, then who is the nut case?

We are the result of some cosmic phenomenon. God was created because man could not explain our existence.

Yes off course if you look in the Holy Bible, God created Heaven and earth(genesis 1). He is the source of the air we breath. Without him the world would be in chaos and life would be meaningless. So if you want to know more,it would be advisable for you to find local church that you know won't misinterpret the people and talk to it's Pastor. lol...

It is either the biggest hoax that has been around for thousands of years or God IS the center of the universe. If you believe who knows what kind of a world this could be?
