A salient question, mudcat 267. And well answered by godlessheathen. Who better to build a religion around than a person who never existed?

The only "proof" we have of the biblical faerie stories surrounding this man and his followers are writings and re-writings, translated and re-translated, again and again, down the centuries, by people with an agenda of their own. It is all stuff and nonsense.

But how many have suffered and died for this delusional fantasy? Religion, in whatever guise, has caused more pain, suffering and death than any single component of life on earth. How perfectly loathsome....

He did. See the Gospel of John, first chapter. John was an apostle of Jesus. John called Jesus "the Word". How did God create the universe? He spoke a word. Jesus is the Word. Jesus and the Holy Spirit of God inspired all sixty of the writers of the Bible. You should try reading it. The Word is the way to life.

Yes Jesus did write something down. he wrote the ten commandments in two tables of stone
DEUTERONOMY 5:22
22) these words the Lord spake unto all your assembly in the mount out of the mist of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice: and he added no more. And he wrote them in two tables of stone, and delivered them unto me.

So yes Jesus wrote something good for us all to adhere to.
Amen

Are you asking scriptually? There is no scripture authored by the physical hand of Jesus. He did write, once in the sand, in the gospels. But Jesus is the living word of God. The "bread of life" "living waters" all scripture, the Bible, is God inspired and since Jesus knows the mind of His Father and they are one. He authored the Bible. It's a very theological discussion this simple question inspires.

Rev 19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

Because Christ is the living Word.

Joh 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

John 8: 6-8 " But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, ' If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first one to throw the stone at her . ' Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground"

He did write indeed, and He is still life saving and life changing business. I believe that he wrote down the sins, like : anger, jealousy, ignorance, cold heartiness etc...so nobody would not feel like they were sin free and suitable to throw the first stone at her.

He is still wanting us to recognize our sins, and to save us.

Scripture is God's manual for life. The Bible is god's love letter to us and its purpose is to bring us into relationship with Him. Scripture reveal the the person of Jesus Christ and His creation. As it is written by humans, it is inspired by God.

He did

John 8:6-8

6This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with his finger wrote on the ground, as though he heard them not.

7So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

8And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground.

Can you imagine what we would do with it if He did? I think there is a very good reason for not having anything directly from Christ. There are enough pieces of the croos that Christ died on sold to make about 5,000 crosses.

Bibical scholars believe that Jesus did write his own gospel--a document they refer to as the "Q Document". It's never been found, but even the Vatican has acknowledged that it probably existed, and may yet be found.

I am not sure if he could actually write, as writing was reserved for the priesthoods and their acolytes at the time and the average person was not allowed to do so on pain of punishment.
