I started a diet today from LA Weight Loss Centers that my sister in law joined. It allows you some carbs so that you're not all carb starved and probably won't let you get bombed right away.
Breakfast: 1/2 cup oatmeal
4 oz (1/2 cup) 1% milk
1-2 packets splenda
1 Tbsp Lite Margarine

9:30 am 1 cup of fruit (not banana, if you want a
banana only have half of a small one)

10:30am 4 ounces Dannon carb control yogurt

11:00-11:15 Snack Bar from Slim Fast (Carbfree)

12:30- 1:00 Lunch
6 ounces chicken
1 starch ( 3 saltines, 1/2 potato)
Salad
2:00- 2:30 1 cup fruit

3 or 3:15 Sugar Free Jello

4:00 Snack bar (slim fast carb free-try the
chocolate peanut butter crunch they taste
like a butter finger yum)

6:00 Dinner
6 ounces meat (pick beef/chicken/fish)
Vegetables 2 portions
1 cup of fruit.

I noticed eating every two hours or so helped me from being hungry. Glgl

Ok cutting carbs is the worst thing you can do if you're a heavy drinker. Plus the no carb diet is bad on your liver (which is already being occupied at the moment) and kidneys. You might want to try eating little bits of food, small meals through out the day. Have the meals consist of mostly meat, vegis, fruit, and a little starch (sweet potatoes are great). Also while you're drinking you might want to ask for instead of a rum and coke, a rum and diet coke. It will help cut the calories later.

atkins probably wouldn't be the best choice, Drinking alot makes the liver and kidneys work alot of overtime- atkins makes the kidney work overtime. Too much overtime and the organs will get mad and stop working right (or stop working).
Since you are drinking you need to drink lots of water before and after drinking to help your body flush out the booze! that's important.
Since you seem to need carbs in your system soon before drinking maybe you should eat most of your protein, veggies, and fruits early and save up most carbs for before drinking?

Try eating low fat stuff and also keeping the amount of calories that you take in a day rather low. I have recently lost 30 pounds by eating between 1000 and 1500 calories a day and low fat, plus I have cut soft drinks out completely and cut back on my alcohol intake. And i exercise a lil...I probably would lose more weight if I did more exercising. Good luck...losing weight is a pain in the ***.

scrap the idea of diet. Think more along the lines of drink 16 oz of water for every 8 of alcohol and go to the gym and do a lot of cardio

You are allowed 12 light beers a day... no more no less...
you can suppliment your diet with some food but then you must not drink all 12 beer in one day.
I recommend 3 Beer a meal and one small meal a day... otherwise you might get too many headaches...

I think you have no other choice. Or at least cut down on the amount you drink. The zone diet is really good. Don't forget to exercise.

Why diet when you choose to kill yourself with booze? Go whole hog...drink, smoke, eat what you like and check out of dodge as soon as possible. That's where you're headed.
