Eat food rich in Vitamin C because it is good for your eyes.

First your mom is wrong about looking at the screen. It's old wives tales half the stuff a mother tells their kid. She did what my mom did to me and is using that fear or excuse to get you to stop wasting time on the computer.
As for your eyes, you need to start taking antioxidants. Red Grapes and Blueberries are high with them. I take vitamins that help improve my eyes. It's expensive, but my eyes have improved! That is part of the reason I started to sell them. No....I'm not trying to sell you anything because I know you are a kid and don't have the money. Just eat foods and fruit high in antioxidants.

Carrots contain large amounts of carotene, a precursor to vitamin A. Vitamin A aids in the synthesis of rhodospin, a visual pignment in the rods that help stimulate your photoreceptors. Yes, carrots are extremely beneficial for preventive care of your eyes.

Depending on the amount of time you spend in front of a computer, and the manner that you view the screen can definitely cause damage. For instance, if you are in a dark room staring at a lit monitor for several hours you are going to damage your photoreceptors.

Welcome to the world of aging. Be happy you do not have 20/500 like me, and I am only 34. Been wearing glasses since the second grade though. So take care of your eyes and do not strain or force them to focus. IF you do you have to get glasses, there are some really nice and fun styles to pick from.

You should probably get your vision checked. If there is refractive error and it bothers you you have three options: glasses, contacts or refractive eye surgery. I had some nearsightedness with astigmatism and had my eyes done last year. Now I'm 20/15 and very happy...

carrots are great for your eye health. I don't know that they improve your vision though. Call your eye doctor and ask for suggestions.

try not to focus your attention at a thing for too long
like it's ok to use computer but not too long and try to switch focus to other things like your clothes or the window like every 30 seconds
