You don't need God to give us morals. Virtues can transcend religion. But some people do need religion and would not have morals without it.

Best wishes.

Because most theists believe that God is the very source of morality- and a very good case can be made for the idea- any truly acceptable moral code reflects values that have always tended to be associated with theistic belief systems. One may have an acceptable moral code without theistically based belief- i.e. faith- but that code contains beliefs such as murder is wrong (Thou shalt not MURDER- the accurate translation of the Hebrew), or it will lead to the moral code's becoming defunct by virtue of the ending of it's adherents lives. With that being the case atheists will only survive by adapting to a theist based moral code- and more specifically, yes some of these theists would in fact become homicidal maniacs, look at our "Christian" president and his totalitarian, empire seeking behavior (sometimes even a faith is corrupted by it's alleged adherents).

The theists that really believe this think this because they don't understand how someone can have a sense of morality without fear of some sort of retribution from "god". What they don't seem to understand is that morals are relative to society, what is acceptable in society today was different from what was acceptable just fifty years ago. This negates their argument that "god" gives people morals. Apparently this "god" is unchanging so why are morals relative to the society in which they exist? Another group of theists just like to use this argument because it is hard to argue against. Unless you are prepared to deal with an insane person such as this, they will use their religious stubbornness to, at least from their perspective, win the argument. Which is bad because it will just give them an ego boost to go on believing in their mythology.

I would. Why not? No consequences. No higher authority to give an enlightened view of humanity. All you would have is your life until the day you die, and it would be over. I'm intelligent, and physically strong. Why not take anything I want as long as I can. There would be no reason not to.
It is the idea of a higher power that teaches that the strong should protect and help the weak, for the betterment of all. Not only for ones personal consequence of Heaven or Hell, but we are told to help others in their journey there as well. Without that, we are all free to be the centers of our own universe, and to disregard any and all that get in our way.

Moral? on who's point of view? Gods? mans? woman's? animals?

Moral is based on mostly on societies point of view at that time. Like killing became morally wrong, but back it the days it was morally right thing to challenge another person to a duel over a dispute.

like stealing is morally wrong, why? because person you stole from lost something. So even if you are starving to death, it is wrong to steal some food.

Moral is based on Human's point of view. GOD has NOTHING to do with it. Threat of heaven and hell? lost its meaning like curse words because people use it too much.

Do tell theists. I always wonder that myself. Good Question. I would prefer to be a Nihilist but even Nietzsche stated that morals cannot be secular for nihilism to take place. I understand this, but basing moral code on a faith is not necessary. Most non-religious people are actually the good people in the world. They don't spend all their time judging people and being bible biased.

No.

Sometimes people have difficulty explaining themsleves and their beliefs

Sometimes they do need a help from an outside source because life can be very hard on people: when they lose someone they love, lose thier fortune, become ill, have bad relationships and other things. So sometimes people look to a higher power to help them through.

Sometimes poeple believe in God because its more pleasant and more fun and easier to enjoy life in a state of oneness and harmony with all things.

But I think you will find most religious people have good "morals" regardless of their belief.

Though you'd never know because I doubt you can take thier beliefs away from them.

What a person believes is very important to him/her. Its a loaded question.

God gives us a list of morals to live by, i.e. the ten commandments.
A lot of non-Christians have gotten into the practice of creating their own moral standards, "subjective morality": what's true for you may not be necessarily true for me. This gets us into problems many times, like when is it okay to steal? When you're a little hungry? When you haven't eaten in a week? Never? When is it okay to have sex? Before marriage? Before being in a committed relationship? Before turning 18?
Christianity provides a standard of morality that all its believers could agree to (not saying that they all DO agree, but that is the ideal).

Because if I were an atheist than the only real law in life is a selfish struggle for survival. My only goal would be to stay alive. Anything else goes.... right? I mean if life has no other meaning, what do any kind of morales matter. We are just here for a short time and then we are nothing.

Early human beings nonetheless had leaders, and those leaders mandatory the thank you to regulate the persons. What better way then to furnish them God's and then make it so in the event that they don't obey their leaders, their destiny and torment does not merely end at dying, yet lasts previous it? seem back via background, Pharaohs claimed to be descended from gods, so did Cesars, or perhaps Kings and Queens, around the international. they might make the persons have confidence if it rained, it became because of the fact they wanted it to, or if it became a flood, it became because of the fact they have been displeased. maximum of them have been lots better knowledgeable then the poorer classes, or perhaps back then might desire to look at clouds, and tell if it would hurricane with incredibly good accuracy, and for that reason might announce it, and merely make their claims seem to be actual. Do slightly greater digging, you will see. Cheers!

It is not about threats, it is about gifts. All are Created equal and therefore, theist or antethiest, morals are already there. Everyone knows right from wrong, some just choose the wrong path.
