Expect you will upset everybody within 5 rows of you. Expect that baby will save poop time for half way through the flight. You will need to plan to change diapers twice. Expect to be very unpopular. The flight attendants will smile like they care for you , but don't be fooled.

babies havn't developed the tube connecting to their ears that's needed to equalize. Crying should be expected because of the pain of the pressure difference. Don't use any negative or painful methods to stop the crying because that will increase the already substancial pain.

the last flight I was on there was a small child on the plane, the parents had a dvd player with the child's favorite programs and everything was great.
Or grandson had some ear problems and the pressure bothered him!

Their ears will probably plug up, my mom always gave ups children's Tylenol, it helps with congestion so it helps to prevent plugging the ears, also it may put the child to sleep, and they'll sleep the whole trip. Happy flying :)

I'd suggest talking to your pediatrician about the possibility of ear pain and how to help alleve it.
