There are lots of simple training tricks you can practise to teach your dog not to jump. Rewarding her when she stays put is basically what will work to teach her. Try the instructions at http://www.canismajor.com/dog/clk9906.html or http://www.dogtrainersearch.com/articles/jumping/jumping.htm. Good luck!

I know this is going to sound a bit odd, and it is going to require the help of the people that she is jumping on for a while also. When she comes running to jump up on you, instead of going to push her down, or backing away, (which is what most people do and dogs take as play) cross your arms across your chest and look up. Your dog should calm down quickly. After she has calmed down sufficiently then it will be ok to pet her, but just make sure not to get her riled up right away. After a while of doing this she should unlearn he jumping up behavior. Good luck.

I doubt it, my mother in law has the same exact problem and her dog is 3 already. Try isolating the dog in a seperate room with a baby gate when people come over so the dog dosen't feel left out but can still understand they are in a seperate room for a reason. This seems to work well.

i cant believe people have said to actually hit your dog with a newspaper, or a bottle?!?!?! are you kidding!!! Rolling a dog on their back can be a useful tool to establish and maintain dominance over your dog, but should really only be used in a more severe instance, like if the dog is showing aggression.
what you need to remember is that dogs have an incredibly hightened awareness of your (being a dominant figure over your dog) state of mind. If your dog sees you as a dominant figure, i.e. the pack leader, they will take on your state of mind. achieve pack leader status by gaining your dogs trust, feeding him, EXCERCISING HIM REGULARLY (especially a boxer) and correcting unwanted behavior, like unnessacary barking/growling, begging for food going in off limit areas etc. correct your dog with sound, not newspapers, like sshh!!! or NO!!. dont say the dogs name to correct them. if on a leash, give a very quick sharp tug strait up, the point of this is to get the dogs attention, not hurt them. if not on a leash, and unresponsive to verbal correction, "bite" the dog with your fingers around the neck or shoulders.
try to stop unwanted behavior before it starts, when a stranger is approaching, or youre in a situation where the dog will jump on someone, stand in front of the dog hold your hand in front, and give a "sit-stay" command. once the dogs alertness elevates (ears up, head rises, chest out, tail wagging are all signs of elevating excitement) give a SHH!! to divert their attention back to you, its your job to keep them calm. use your body to block the source of excitment, use your verbal, and hand signals, and speak calmly and BE calm. if your dog trusts you, she'll be calm too. good luck, and love your boxer, theyre the best.

Watch the Dog Whisperer. According to him you have to establish yourself as the pack leader, then all things are possible. He did this one on the show, the dog learned to sit and stay behind the owner when people came in the door. It was on the animal channel, but he's been on all the talk shows and PBS.

Go here for an awesome dog training program http://OnlineDogTraining.enle.info/?dR08
Since it is obvious that you do not have a clue about obedience training, your services should be for free. You cannot train even an adult dog for 8 hours a day. About the most that can be done at any one time is 10 - 20 minutes and that is with an adult dog and not a puppy. The attention span on this baby is extremely short and training session should be no more than 10 minutes and twice a day. Additionally, there isn t going to be much learned if you will only be training for 5 days. Obedience training is cumulative and is done over a much longer period of at least several weeks to several months.
What you can charge is determined by your experience, reputation, and accomplishments and in a case like this, should also include guaranteed expectations. Just working with dogs over several years, is not the experience that is necessary to be a dog trainer. There are too many people who are putting that title to their name and fleecing the public. Don t be one of them.

I am an animal lover but HATE it when someones dog jumps all over me. You should put him/her in a bedroom or outside. Your guests should not have to tolerate this. Sorry if this seems harsh but most people are too nice to say this to your face.

That is just the way they are. Get something she doesn't like and swat her with it when she does it. Example a rolled up newspaper or a plastic bottle with pennies in it.... I have had 2 boxers and have many friends who own them and they are all alike. Keep up the obedience school.
