THE POLLEN FILTER IS UNDER THE CENTER FRONT PANEL ON THE DASH.
LOOK IN YOUR OWNERS MANUAL UNDER SCHEDULED MAINTENANCE TO SEE WHAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DONE AT EACH 5000 MILE INTERVAL.

It is just a more exciting word then what it is truly called "Cabin Air" filter is what it is, it just has more sale appeal if you call it a pollen filter.
I pulls most of the dust and dirt from the air before it enters the interior.
of course when you open the doors or drive with the window down it defeats the purpose of being a pollen filter.
It dose need changed from time to time and you should Check it.
Look in your owners manual for the location.
another good idea is to get a Haynes repair manual for your car, even if you have no plan on ever fixing it your self.
A repair manual will better help you to understand what they are saying when you want/need to get your car fixed.
They can be purchased at any auto parts store for $15. to $20.
money well worth spending.
The cabin air filter should be changed about every 10K to 20K miles depending on where you live and how dirty the air is.

I assume they want to replace the pollen filter because it isn't operating to it optimal condition.
I'm also guessing the pollen filter just doesn't allow pollen into the interior of your car.
Hope that helps.

Usually under the hood left hand side toward back of engine. Plate opens from firewall near front window. There is writing on the plate that tells you to see owners manual for replacement.
