Depends on who's uglier.
If one is a lot uglier than the other one, then the first one will always find it hard to trust.

How long have you been with this person? If it's been awhile and you still don't trust them, then I'd say you shouldn't be with them. Trust your instinct. IF you feel there's a problem , there may be. Trust between 2 people is earned over time. Sometimes that breaks apart for one reason or another. But it's not an automatic thing. Bottom line, take care of yourself.

It is true that they are in the best position to hurt you. It may be a stupid thing for me to do, but I put complete trust in the person I'm with until I have reason not to. Then, if I do get a reason to have doubt, I come right out and ask them about it. No point being mad about something that isn't true. Otherwise, it can cause unneeded jealousy and all kinds of problems with your relationship.
I don't know how people expect others to earn their trust. I think that is just their insecurities talking, but that is my opinion. Ya, I put myself in a position to get hurt, but I don't think you can truly love someone if you don't have complete trust in them.

Because we all view the world through the tainted glass of our past. Acknowledge the things that have hurt you before and remind yourself that this wasn't the person to do it. Don't be completely blind, but don't assume your current partner will do the same things other people did either. Learning to trust is the key to building an even stronger relationship.

Honestly its not hard to trust him at all. He can drive me absolutely bananas at time but I completely trust him. I'm not saying he's never lied at one time or another because we ALL lie and fib a little. I love him and believe what he tells me. If I catch him fibbing I rub his nose in it. You are suppose to trust the one your with or it would make everyday very difficult. Lots of Luck

Trust has to be earned by your lover. You can just trust some one because you will wind up getting hurt.

A more important question is, if you can't trust the person, why are you in relationship with him/her?

From the sound of it, I take it that He/ She must be not trustworthy, otherwise you would. Or were you in a bad relationship before and are carrying that worry in to this one?

Either they've done something in the present or the past for u to question their trustworthyness, or it's just ur own insecurities that may or may not be resolved, if he/she's helped u get over them.
