I would just leave her in PCI, if she is learning the things that needs to be learned then she will be fine...good luck with your decision

Hi. I have a 5 year old. I put her in pre k when she was 3. It has been the best thing for her. She has learned about school rules and getting use to going. Know she is set up and ready for her first day of kinderaden this year. They teach her what is to be expected in kindergarden.

I have a little babay too and I made some research about kindergarden. First of all, they're expensive and they don;t teach anything you can't teach her at home. It's good your girl is going now to a PCI because she can socialize with other kids and learn new things, also that help you if you are working. If you said she has to go next year to kindergarden anyway so I recommend you to wait till then so.
Good Luck with that!!

a child can really learn alot from pre-k.I would weigh out the options as far as what she is learning in this pre k and the atmosphere there. If it is basically a play day for the child then she needs to be in the regular pre k at her school to get use to the way things are done at school and the shool can better prepare her for kindergarden. If the school she is in now has a class room setting and is teaching her then maybe she needs to stay there since it is a full day.I can say that children who go through pre k at school end up alot smarter and learn quickly compared to a student that never had pre k.
good luck

I have a 4 year old and he just finished pre-K and really liked it. I'm not sure what PCI is, my son just went to daycare before pre-K. Is she learning to read, write, ect at PCI? If not, then Pre-K would be better. You want her to be ready for kindergarten and at or above the level of her fellow students. My boy still had fun time, snack, ect but learned a whole lot as well and I feel he's much more ready for kindergarten than he would have been without pre-k.

I think it's really your call. If you don't feel she needs pre-k, don't send her. I didn't send my 7 year old to pre-k, because I really didn't feel she needed it. She went into 1st grade, and did really well. She'll be going into 2nd grade, and I feel confident that she'll do well next year too. I would just let her continue going to her PCI, and work with her on her ABC's, reading and writing in addition to whatever she may be learning at her PCI. Kids that age usually like when Mom takes initiative to teach them a few things as well.

Some school - evenhalf-day - is much better than no school.. She will get used to the routine and rules as well as get ready for the curriculum that will come the next year. I say go for it,

Please put her in PRE K only if it is a half day! As a teacher I can tell you children benefit greatly from being in pre-k before kindergarten. Socially, academically and behavioraly

it really doesnt make a difference as long as your child is in a good enviornment and will be able to learn her basic skills such as the first few letters in the alaphabet. and like the place she is in

If she is doing well in the place she is in currently, I would probably recommend staying there. This way she will have more social exposure to kids...this is VERY important in this age.
