It's all in the delivery. No matter what a guy says you can almost always tell if he's a creep by the way he approaches you, his mannerisms, and how he speaks-not so much what he says. Nine times out of ten, body language and nonverbal communication (like the tone of their voice) will tell a girl whether to bolt or stick around-regardless of what they have to say. So my advice to you, be confident about approaching a girl but don't get up in her face-give her a little space and she'll appreciate that-if she likes you, she'll move closer. Pick up lines are impersonal and too planned out (theres a chance you could screw it up) and generally sound like something you would say to a hooker to get their attention. Small talk is really your best bet. Nothing too personal, start with a few very simple questions and if she seems interested (watch her body language) tell her your name, why you happen to be on/in the same plane/bus/park, etc. as her, and answer her questions honestly. Compliments are great, so long as they are tasteful or you'll quickly be labeled a creep. One last thing, try to talk and act normal-with just a touch of bashfulness-it sounds lame, but a girl will notice that immediately and will be flattered-because thats your humble sign to her that you think she's attractive. In addition, your slight bashfulness makes it easier for you to talk to her and more likely that she'll open up and invite you into her world (and maybe even her apartment!) because she won't feel threatened by you.
