i know someone who had one tube removed because of an ectopic pregnancy. she was told back then that she couldn't get pregnant. within a few months she was pregnant. when she spoke to her gyno about how she was told she could NEVER get pregnant she was informed that THAT was not true in the least. when you have just one tube it means that you are only ovulating, on average, once every two months. although your cycle will seem normal every month you have an anovulatory (no egg release) cycle on all of the months that you should have been ovulating from that particular missing tube. you should be able to tell which months you TRULY ovulate if you are using temperature charting. when you ovulate you temperature spikes up and remains high AROUND the 14th day of your cycle. if you temperature only rises SLIGHTLY you have probably had an anovulatory month. please talk to an endocronologist, this is a fertility issue and your insurance should pay for some of your fees associated with this issue. BEST OF LUCK TO YOU!

You can concieve a baby the natural way with one tube. You can only get pregnant every other month and it's a toss up as to which month you will get pregnant, because you don't know which ovary you ovulate from on what month. >.>

This is in response to Star-Chans answer. A fertile woman can get pregnant on a month to month basis. Many woman can tell you exactly which tube they are ovulating from. The pain is obvious. Review your facts, star chan before you post something with what seems to be false information.

My mother, after having my two brothers, had to have one of her ovaries and the respective tube removed. As far as I understand, it took her a couple of months to get pregnant, once they started trying.

you ovulate from one ovary one month and the other one the next month, so, yes it will take longer to concieve, if that is what you are trying to do. does this help?
