Pray for each person you know, starting with the letter A.
Breathe slowly and deeply while tensing and relaxing each and every area of your body. Think of your favorite outdoor spot and imagine your are there, by yourself, then breathe deeply and slowly some more.
Take a warm bath.
Read a boring book.
Eat a bowl of cereal, or other milk product.
Make sure the room is dark, the TV is off and the bed is comfortable.
If you need to drown out other surrounding noise, run a fan or buy a white noise machine.
good luck.

Camamile Tea. Sleepy Time Tea by Celestial Seasonings.
If you are worrying about something, try writing it down to get it out of your head. That might help.
I agree with the "Big O". You will definitely go to sleep after that!

I use unisom. its twice as strong as tylenol pm, or sominex.
or if you do not prefer medication, try a warm bath, then have a loved one massage your back with warm oil or lotion, massagers work great too if you do not have anyone to give a massage.
or try reading with the lights dim. I also like a small fan running, or some other soothing sound, a sound machine, water foutains, or try aromatherapy. and yes, even sex! good luck, hope this helps ya catch your zzzz's smiles:) BD

not thinking about anything, you will fall into a sleep slowly.
sleeping pills, can result in side effects.
make yourself tire, do alot of works, you fall asleep quickly.
best option: read a book on the bed, better than sleeping pill and no side effect.

I am blessed to have wonderful husband who understands that I have a problem falling asleep. I read a book or magazine for awhile and then we turn off the light, we have sex, and he rubs my back lightly until I fall asleep. What a great guy huh?
