You can try getting a relaxer. It straitens your hair. Thts what I do but a professional does mine. It is cheaper to buy it at the store and do it your self.

Personally, I wouldn't advise straightening your hair. But If you REALLY love the straight look and decide to get a perm, make sure you find an educated professional to do it for you. So many people get perms and end up overprocessing their hair.
As far as heat is concerned, don't overdo it. Flat-ironing your hair every morning is a BAD idea. Just make sure you know what you're doing, and at the first sign of breakage or thinning, STOP!!
Anyway, why not rock your hair the way it naturally is? I'm sure it's cute without harsh chemicals and heat.

I, myself, would tell you to get a perm. I, too, have curly hair and i spend about 4 hours washing, combing, pressing, and flat ironing my hair, with the result of burnt fingers and the straightness of my hair. If you really want it straight then get it permed and use "just for me" it's a kid perm but it's good and use "dark and lovely" Corrective leave-in condition therapy. after perming your hair once you can press it, and it would be easier.

Well, I used to do this a lot before I heard of the curling iron. You braid your hair up when it's wet and it the morning you take it out and it's crimping. It requires no heat, just lots of little bands.
I would reccomend it for someone that wants a cheap, un-damging summer hairstyle!
Good lucK!=]

Honey, I'd KILL for your curly hair. I'm a straight-haired black gal and I HATE it! You have no idea how much trouble I have to go through to get my hair big and beautiful. Who wants flat boring hair? Not me!
