If you're talking about Multiple Sclerosis, the symptoms are weakness in one or more limbs, double vision or partial or complete loss of eyesight in one eye, tingling or pain in the extremities with numbness, fatigue, dizziness and occasionally tremors, slurred speech, and bladder or bowel problems.
Multiple sclerosis is not fully understood, but is believed to be a form of autoimmune disease, where the body incorrectly sends antibodies to attack the myelin sheath surrounding nerve bundles. This attack causes scarring (sclerosis) in multiple areas of the central nervous system, reducing or impairing your body's ability to transmit nervous signals from the extremities to the brain.
It is diagnosed through a full medical evaluation, testing reflexes and utilizing diagnostic tests such as an MRI, spinal tap or a really FUN test known as an evoked potential test, where they send electrical shocks into your arms and legs and compare how much they jump to how much they're supposed to jump.
