have you given the dog a chance? most dogs if you have well trained them will turn out just fine with your kids. I guess you shouldn't have any animals then. I am not saying this to be mean but you got the dog, it did not get you and because you don't want anything to happen the dog goes. How fair is that to your dog. If the dog were aggressive I would say you should have parted with it long ago, if you are concerned it will attack your kids you must not know it that well. I know my dogs and how they interact with my kids, your children will grow up to respect the dog if that is what you teach them and to mistreat the dog if that is what you teach them, the dog is what it is because of how you raised it. This just makes me sad that these poor animals are so easily tossed away. I would say try a no kill shelter or go online for local jack russell terrier rescue groups.

NO!! Don't give up your beloved pet. Your Jack Russell is just as much a part of your family. If he/she grows up with the girls it would be a wonderful thing and they would all learn to get along. I too have a Jack Russell "Princess" who is 4 years old and two wild little boys! They run and play together and when they are gone at grandmas Princess runs back and forth to their rooms checking for them! What a wonderful relationship they have. I am sorry that I don't have any information on adoption, as I live in Florida. But please consider what I have wrote, as the bond between children and animals are a wonderful thing! Goodluck
P.S. when we were searching for a dog we learned that Jack Russell are great with children and Princess has definetly proven that fact!

Seven years is a long time. Jacks choose carefuly who they will give themselves to. If he is that much loved by you why can't you give the poor chap a chance. Have him sit with you and the babies and softly talk to him. Give him his own play time, just like you will have to do with your twins. Jacks are very special, I have 3 and would never give them up. They adjusted to 2 kitties after a month AND a Pet rat who They are trained to kill. If I can do this you can help him to adjust to your new members. Our neighbor has a jack too and they have had 2 kids since the jack turned 8 and he loves the kids because they took time to include him in their lives. Giving him up is just plain wrong, I'm sorry but I understand jacks very well and know how smart they are AND how LOVING and UNDERSTANDING they can be!

Don't give your dog away before he has a chance to interact with the babies - why would you give him up based on what *might* happen? Has the dog shown nastiness toward children in the past? Dogs will often become protective of the babies, so your Jack Russell might be a welcome and loving companion to them.
Don't be hasty with this - you might do something you'll truly regret later, and you will always wonder "What if?"

I agree with the ppl who says don't give up the dog.dogs are
part of the family.. especially to children..it is like a bond... You have been with this doggy for a long time and if you decided to get one again..you would start again to zero.
I am one who is still looking for a dog and I would not be responsible even someone give one to me as long as I never search and read lots of answers how to have one that I would be a good owner..they are not like toys that you just put in the corner..they need lots of attention and love, and you provide lots of them to this doggy.. it just wasting all your love and time.. when you are out, even the dog could protect your children no matter how small they are to strangers...
whatever your decision would be, hope the dog would be happy.

i love them besides the undeniable fact that the call Brynn should be spelled with 2 n's, which looks incorrect yet that's truly the authentic German spelling. except that the in person-friendly words element i don't like is both Chelsea and Avery ending in an ee sound
