I don't think so. They are not good for your feet, smell, and look tacky unless your on the beach. Wearing them to work shows little respect for you and your job.

Without reading your link or the other responses, my first reaction is NO, they are not acceptable in the workplace. I guess it depends on what type of workplace we're talking about too. For instance, in a professional law firm, it would be totally inappropriate to wear flip flops, but in a retail clothing store such as Abercrombie or Aeropostale, I could see the staff wearing flip flops and being perfectly appropriate. It's all a matter of right time/place for everything.

I didn't read the link.. but my thought is that it would depend on the workplace.. and your specific job..
On a typical casual friday as a administrative assistant (PC term for secretary) I would say sure.. as long as you didn't need to make an impressive impression for a client.. keep your feet well manicured and I don't see the harm in it.. I would look at your coworkers and their choice of shoe.. Don't be the first to make the statement and you can't go wrong..
I know for a fact that before Tripod got bought out by Yahoo or (whoever has the name now..)
the owner of the company encouraged skateboards as a mode of transportation in the hallways of the workplace. Shorts and t-shirts were standard dress 7 days a week.. and damn near every single one there was a total pothead that made no secret of it...
But that is an certainly an exception to the status quo.

The only working-place where flip-flops could be allowed is if you're working at a summer pub or as a beach lifegaurd. Otherwise can't imagine it!! Would be funny and wouldn't get u a lot of respect at work i think.

I think it totally depends on ur workplace dresscode, what u do, how professional u are supposed to be etc. If working in an office I would think not, but on the other hand if working in a retail store that sells them, why not?

employer casual is so puzzling for women human beings, surely approximately it. detect a garb line that fits your physique then inventory up on their pants. in case you artwork long hours, do no longer forget approximately dry washer-friendly pants. in case you do pass with washer-friendly make certain you have time to iron all of it. As for shirts, attempt to discover flattering tops that don't seem revealing (including while you bend over!). stay with lifelike colors or problem-unfastened blacks and browns. I recognize fashionistas will hate this respond, even with the incontrovertible fact which you do no longer desire your coworkers judging you on your clothing and now no longer your artwork.

It really depends on your job. If you are in an office setting, they are never acceptable. If you work at a day care or a water park sure!
