People ask me all the time am I indian, pakistani, arab,or from the islands etc or do I have indian ancestors. But everyone in my family looks black and have black features. I look different from the rest of my family (we are black) and I dont really have any of my parents or grandparents features.

madam, there is NO RACE, we are all the same race, HUMAN RACE, all the crap about races is not true, we were all equal in rights and standards, so what is the difference between races? There are none, so we all belong in a race, the Human Race.

Geneticists have had some success tracing DNA lines (there are often specials about it on PBS). DNA is a complex thing, and traits can show up in you that are found in none of your relatives. An example of this was found in the aforementioned PBS special. Some Geneticists were trying to find a decedent of a female skeleton they had found which they believe to be one of the Amazon women. Long story short, they did find a direct decedent among an isolated tribe in Mongolia. This little have fair skin and light brown hair, while the rest of her family looked Mongolian. The reason you look a little different is that somewhere in your family tree there was at least one person who was Indian/Arab, etc.

There are DNA markers that can indicate you have ancestry that came from a specific ethnic group. But a DNA test cannot say you are X, there has been way to much mixing of the gene pool for that.

yes, there is a test that tells you what you are (race) i saw it either on montel or maury.. im sorry i do not know the name.
