When Jesus died and rose again he conquered the power of death. It's up to us to choose God's way or carry on on the way we're on, which leads to death.
Before there was no other way but death; now there is another way, God's lifeline, giving your life into God's hands, believing Jesus has paid the price for the sins that lead to death and choosing him.

Devil currently has the power over everything. The Christian version of the story is a cover up. Jesus died and it changed absolutely nothing. Devil ("the god of the world") is considering giving back the universe to the christ but I don't think this will happen so fast. And I don't blame him, would you give back a universe? Of course not, I have trouble returning a DVD much less a universe. So, for now the devil is our best hope, everything else is just naive wishful thinking.

When I have a question such as yours, I go to the bible and take the bible's word for it, so below is what I found. Also: 1Cor.15:22-28[All will be resurrected, but death is an enemy that wii be destroyed last];
Heb.2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Heb.2:14 Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; Heb.2:16 For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

Since God created the Devil--and everything else, I'd say he has the power of death. But is death really a "power," or is it just lack of life?

Well, here's what the Bible says, but this is one of those "difficult" passages.
Hebrews 2:14 Since therefore the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise partook of the same things, that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil, 15 and deliver all those who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.
So, apparently before Jesus laid down his life for us the devil had the power of death, but when you read the book of Job you see that the devil still had to get permission from God to kill someone.
Job 2:4 Then Satan answered the LORD and said, "Skin for skin! All that a man has he will give for his life. 5 But stretch out your hand and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse you to your face." 6 And the LORD said to Satan, "Behold, he is in your hand; only spare his life."

Only God has the power of life & death. The devil can make things tough, but he cannot take your life.

The power of life and death is in God.s hand.Remember Job, when the devil touched his life, God told the devil not to take his life.

I guess in a way, the devil does because he is the one that tempted man to sin...therefore seperating them from God when they sinned...which ultimatley results in death and an eternity away from God. God has the power also because he holds our every breath in His hands.

Depends on what religion you follow.
But in most religions creation of life and death actually goes hand to hand.
But, people would prefer to believe that god has the power of death. Then does that mean all the plague, famine, war, murder, suicide, and other is god's doing?

The devil has no real power at all. He has already lost the war he started, he is already defeated. He knows it, I know it, and God knows it. DO YOU?
