Hi, I have 6 pekingese dogs and have raised them since they were 5 weeks old. I have always more or less treated them all like I would a child and that is exactly what they act like! They are so spoiled and jealous of each other. I have one in particular that watches animal planet all day or scoobie do, another that has toys he won't share with the others, and believe it or not, one that actually tattle tales on the others. There are more to animals than most people think. They do plan things and can reason very well. They know cause and affect, they cry, smile, laugh, and hurt just like we do. Never underestimate a dog! They really are our best friends!

Yep, I have a black lab that is like that. I think it is because I live alone with her. She was well trained as a pup, gets to do whatever she wants, gets WAY too much attention, etc.
My dog sits on the couch like a human; she sleeps in the bed like a human; comunicates well; treats people well; curls her lip at me whenever she is upset with me; kinda, sorta talks to me. I mean, I always know what she wants. She knows lots of peoples names so if I say it, she gets excited, because she likes their company. If she doesn't "understand" something or isn't sure about something, she will literally stop, sit down at my side, look up at me and perk her ears, turn her head in a questioning manner, until I give her some instruction. She gets excited whenever I am happy. She lays her head on my lap or on my chest whenever I am sick, hurt or upset. If I get angry, she barks...and so forth.
I have been around dogs all my life, and I have never came across a dog that even compares to the intelligence of this one. Sure, she is pure breed. I don't know if that matters. She looks like a show dog too. I have no idea if that even means anything. I just know this dog is ridiculous. Friends and family marvel at her, because they cannot believe how smart she is.
I am very lucky, I guess.

I have a weimaraner that opens the fridge & helps himself, we started taping up the door when we left him alone & after a while he was pulling the tape off, so we had to buy a side by side...he has not figured how to open that but I'm sure he's tried. He also opens cupboards, we had to move all food to higher cupboards, and he even opened the oven once while a lasagna was cooking in there...that was a one time try for him since he burnt himself and had to go to the vet.
He also sleeps in the bed under the blanket with his head on a pillow. A spoiled baby..

Not dog, the correct word is deople. My guys definitely feel they are way above canine status. They act as alarm clocks, waking me up if I forget to set the clock, they remind me to go to bed. And are more then willing to share my dinner, no matter what i cook.
They play and act like children, bringing toys and teasing. They laugh at us in their own way. That I am sure of.
If I am sad, they are there for me, knowing the right way to act.
How dare you insinuate that these quadripeds are dogs.

No, But my son sometimes acts more like a dog than a human. When he was younger, a few times I found him asleep in the dog kennel. He also hid there on more than one occasion.

I have 9 of them. Of course, some people act more like animals than humans, also, so maybe it all works out.

Yeah my dog always acts like a human. She always let's you know what she wants and if you don't get it for her she wines. It's really funny. She also always seams to know what you are saying to her and she reacts to things you say to her just like a human would.
