I love St. Pauli Girl, Grolsch, and Amstel Light. I used to drink Bud Light, Coors Light, and some other beers due to ignorance and young age. With exploration and age I found the wonderful taste of Imported Beers. We need to educate!!!

True, PBR and a few select U.S. brews are good. Try Stone, which makes Arrogant Bastard, Bells, and New Albanian Brewery.
As for the cheap swill. People just think they like it and that is because it is served ice cold. It has to be ice cold because it tastes like piss. If it was served at room temp know one would go near it.
Now, if someone says "I don't like beer" that is usually because they have never had real beer. Those people should try a Belgian ale or perhaps a lambic.
As for me, I have several favorites. I like Duval , Delirium Tremens, Guinness, and the Old Peculiar.
The funny thing is, I am an American, but please don't serve my Guinness extra cold!! If Guinness is not available I'll have a proper pint by the pump!!

People get so used to drinking cheap beer that they end up aquiring a taste for it and by the time they do try real good beer it has too rich of a taste for them.

Different tastes for different people. I prefer dark beer such as NewCastle Brown Ale, Guiness Stout, Beck's Dark, St. Pauli's Dark, etc..
I can't drink American beer, I get sicker than a dog, and in my teens and early adult years I couldn't figure out what my problem was with beer. As long as I stay with my imports I'm fine. And whatever my friends drink, I'll be happy to buy a round of their beer as long as I don't have to drink it.

Why were you drinking beer you didn't like? Everybody has different tastes. That doesn't make them wrong. At least I don't drink something I don't like.

Yeah, "cheap" is the operative word there. The pub around the corner has $1.45 drafts of Bud, etc--during "happy hour" it's $1.25, inexplicably--and that's hard to argue with. Unfortunately, they don't have Guiness or anything else on tap, for when I do want flavor.

Obviously you haven't tried PBR. It won a number of gold awards for beer (internationals included), yet it is the one of the least expensive.
Visit their web site: http://www.pabst.com/
