That German shepards are on the list as Killer and Dangerous Dogs yet the police have them, In my opinion those dogs are loaded guns just waiting to go off.(police dogs that is) Now I am not anti cop but it just strikes me that this makes no sense, In Denver, do they have Police Dogs? if so, what kind?

You know that is a good question. I know what they will say, they have had obedience training and we need aggressive dogs to do our work for us. It really doesn't make sense, but if they banned shephards I bet they wouldn't have to get rid of theirs.

German shepherds aren't really aggressive, they're protective. I know they can seem evil, I had one that was scary as hell. These dogs are used by the police because of this, they protect the officers. German shepherds are very easily trained. I knew someone who had a german shepherd for a partner and you should've seen this dog play with his three year old kid. They are gentle with their family, and with the people they work with. It makes perfect sense that they would use these dogs.

German Shepherds are some of the nicest, most intelligent dogs on the planet. Any dog can be trained to attack, but let's be honest...a bite from a Pomeranian isn't going to do as much damage as one from a German Shepherd.

I've had more biting issues with small, yappy dogs then I've ever had with Shepherds. I wouldn't screw with the owner of a Shepherd...that'll get you hurt bad.

Maybe they are killer and dangerous because they are loyal to their owners and I think if threatened they would defend their owners to the death. My neighbor has a German Shepard and he is about as mild mannered as they get, but if you approach my neighbor in the wrong way that dog will let you know who is boss.

Police side arms and shotguns are also quite dangerous. I think that's the idea. A chihuahua just wouldn't have the same authority ...now would it?
